My Fury Xs are PowerColor cards and both BIOSs on them are the same. So I'm guessing that both of my BIOSs are 250W BIOSs but that doesn't explain why raising the power limit doesn't help in the slightest with the throttling. Also GPU-z doesn't pick up on any of the throttling since it seem to last less than 100ms. The GPUs were bellow 50C core temperature so the throttling isn't temperature relate.

I did the testing in Unigine with the 16.1.1b driver. I used both Trixx and Afterburner and both got the same results.
Nice information. +rep

Now I'm waiting on my nano. Having this card will be easier to double up on later. Not that any of the furys wont crossfire, but my OCD won't allow that. I have to be symmetrical. I'm excited as hell and wish I didn't have to upgrade so many WC parts or I would have gotten another monitor and maybe another nano. Still, I've rocked this 7970 long enough.

Bad news people. Even with the 511 watt, 511 amp BIOS the card trips OCP or OPP at 400W with +200mv. So it looks like there is something other than the BIOS dictating the behavior of the card.

Has anyone tried V1Tech or ColdZero for custom backplates? Im thinking to get one for my Nano, and Im wondering if it will affect temperatures.

Apparently the VRMs get very hot and would not like an cable to touch em.

Edit:

I thought some of the VRM modules were placed behind the card. Apparently, not. I was thinking of getting the EK backplate since its aluminum and has thermal pads too to provide passive cooling, but that seems over the top. Acyclic would be fine too it seems, but since the price difference is little, im leaning towards the EK block.

Is it possible just to take out 4 screws on the edges, and using them to place the EK backplate?

New Fury X tested on Crimson 16.1.1 working flawlessly with all games so far! 2560 x 1440 @ 144hz. The first one was a dud frown.gif
Now to wait for my Agent 47 figurine to arrive to sit on top of the backplate. smile.gif

I tried ordering from Cold Zero with some color graphics, but he told me that they were in the process of ordering the machine to do that. Just ended up getting from an Artisan here. Acrylic plates no problems with vrms on some other cards I used to run, would assume it would be the same for Nano.
