I read up on VSR, but I suspect it'll be of no help to me as I struggle to play my games at 1440p let alone any higher smile.gif Perhaps Civ5 will benefit.

I prefer VSR to AA. Try using VSR without any AA, and you may find that you have the image quality with higher frame rates - that's what works best for me in quite a few games (such as Hitman;Absolution).

I get better framerates with BF4 that way, but I have a 144hz monitor, so VSR's 60hz limits is a restriction I do not like for FPS games.

Unfortunately I am super sensitive to coilwhine, watercooling does not exactly help (with no fans to drown the whine) and the card will be mounted in an open enviroment (not inside a case).

It goes away.....at least it did for me. I cant hear it if it's there over my rad fans.

Thanks for the warm welcome thumb.gif

One question I do have though: How big is the performance delta between the 390X in CF and the Fury (non X) in CF?

As a guess and this is strictly a guess... maybe 35%. But the 390X overclocks better as a whole so some of that can be made up. The FuryX is probably closer to 40-45%. My understanding is that two FuryX is equal in power to three 390X. If that makes sense. Forgive me if my math is off as I didn't use a calculator or anything. Just kind throwing a stab at it.

As said above it's quite close after tweaks. My Fury X / Fury Xfire in Firestrike:http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7497493 and realmacciv's 390's:http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/9672931 . He gets everything out of those 390s and I'm decent at tweaking my cards.

Apologies for terrible formatting, hashing this post out on the mobile. smile.gif

Thanks for the answers guys, upon some further reflection I decided to change my order for 2 Sapphire R9 Fury Tri-X. Money isn't an issue and I want the most power I can get without water cooling. The Sapphire card seems really cool and quiet (which can't be said for Titans). I will post pictures once my system is fully upgraded. I also have a 5820K and an ASUS RVE on the way biggrin.gif

Wow, little disappointed with Fury vs my Hawaii card (note test is 1080P and Hawaii MAX bios mods vs no mod Fury).

Link:- http://www.3dmark.com/compare/fs/7689856/fs/7447383

CPU is @ 4.9GHz / 4.4GHz cache for both tests, don't know why physics score took such a hit with Fury thinking.gif, never seen that kinda variation with 4x differing Hawaii cards.

I think you can get a bit more out of your Fury tbh: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/10951388?
