[Official] AMD R9 Radeon FURY / NANO / X / Pro DUO FIJI Owners Club - Page 922

Just something I've been noticing but why are so many amd cards being held hostage from 480 to fury x? Here in the states a fury can be marked as high as $800. The fury x is still floating around $600 with only one seller posting as low as $460. I understand that the 480 is going to be restocked this week to reduce the absurd $330-$500 price back down towards $270 but is this from people actually thinking they can sell these cards for those prices or is it some tinfoil hat conspiricy surronding nvidia trying to get people to buy their 10 series cards by buying up all the amd cards and trying to resell them overpriced?

Pricing of last gen AMD cards is indeed interesting. There are literally two or three retailers in entire Europe that are selling 390/390x/Fury/FuryX for proper price that takes current market state into account and that they cannot be sold for release price anymore since there are newer and more powerful cards at lower price with Polaris and Pascal. There are very few offers like this and only for selected models. But forvery most of retailers AMD cards price is still like nothing happened and they were released week ago. And at the same, entire GeForce 900 series got serious price cut...

Also, I don't know how it is like in other countries, but in Poland GTX 1060 came in proper price and you can get the cheapest blower cooler AIB card for like 1249 which is actually a bit below bottom MSRP, while all RX 480 references came at 1349 price, which is way over MSRP that was set to 1170. I am not a fanboy of any side and I had both green and red cards, but what is happening now in Poland is clearly price fixing to break AMD sales.

So this either poor price politics and poor influence on prices by AMD, or there is some serious price fixing going on.

How much would you guys value a few month old Asus Nano with an installed EK waterblock ? I am looking to move on to something else since i moved back to an atx form factor.

If I were in the market for a used Nano with a pre-installed waterblock, I'd be looking to spend no more than $375 to $400 at the highest end.

That would be cornering, illegal price manipulation in certain countries and, let's be honest, there would be no way for that to *not* show up somewhere in their books. It's not happening.

I think a modest premium over performance for the Fury X makes sense because it can't compete on specs or performance with the 980ti or 1070 among brand-neutral buyers, so the sellers might as well extract more money out of buyers that are locked into AMD for one reason or another.

Still that doesn't sound like what you are talking about.

AMD cards are generally more expensive due to ETH mining, but ETH mining isn't that profitable atm... Must be lack of supply.

Latest drivers (16.7.2) got WHQL version release 2 days ago, so no more "driver not verified by WHQL" message on 3DMark.

It's the same driver, just WHQL.

-*These drivers are now Microsoft WHQL certified

It doesn't look like it'll change anything except validation.

Exactly. Something to give a whirl for that reason.

Newest drivers are now WHQL thank you AMD. On the other hand they have altered my gpu Oc's in a possibly negative way. Top 5 keeps running away mad.gif

I may go back to 16.6.2 since these seemed to have nerfed my gpu oc.
