Air cooled or water cooled doesn't make a difference in heat in the room, it's how much power the card is using. You're still dissipating the same wattage and unless your radiator etc is in another room it's not gonna make a difference. In fact you're probably outputting more heat with water cooling due to the extra headroom which usually results in higher clocks, voltage power usage etc.

There is a difference. The air cooler fan reaches higher RPMs and simply dumps a ton of heat into the room while the Fury X doesn't have to push the heat out at high RPMs to keep the GPU at a decent temperature. Yes the radiator will get hot, no one is questioning that, but you can run your Fury X fan at a low RPM which doesn't push as much heat out as the air cooler high RPM.

I'm sure people are smart enough to turn their AC on and keep their house\rooms ambient at a decent temp as well. Compared to my previous air blowers my room feel much cooler with my Fury X than it used to. Then I went SLI and you could really feel the heat blowing heavily from the GPUs.

I recently undervolted my Fury X sometimes as well. In the winter months the Fury X runs so cool that heat output is almost non-existing due to the constant cool ambient temps.

There is that little principle that people forget too... the hotter a chip is the more resistance there is in it... thus more heat... the cooler you can keep the chip the lower the resistance in it... I"m not really qualified to explain it properly, but in the push to get 5ghz I learned that keeping the chip cooler actually reduced the power/voltage needed and thus reduces the heat... blah blah, maybe someone else can explain this better, but yes it's possible that liquid cooling could result in overall lower heat output.

System that uses WC has more stable OC, and Yes chip will produce same amout of heat but The Heat dissipation from WC is greater than regular fans can achieve.

I need help here, i got nano with -30v and +50powerlimit and fan 100% and still temps go 77c and its start trothle. Anything what i can do? I did install silent wings2 fan for nano.
The odd thing is that it start trothlle at 77c not 85c, with powerlimit +50 thatis odd?
couldnt unlock any cu so i had a play at overclocking the fury nitro and managed 1161 core 570 memory +75mv.

scored 7598 on 3Dmark Fire Strike Extreme biggrin.gif with max temp 63c using 6700k cpu and z170x gaming 7 board.

overclocked fury X 1134/500mhz scores 7591 here http://www.legitreviews.com/sapphire-radeon-r9-fury-tri-x-oc-video-card-review_169018/8

i just whacked the voltage up 75mv and had a go, tomorrow i will try and keep current clocks and lower the voltage

asic quality is 66.4% on gpuz.

There are 2 different things in effect.
For the copper trace circuitry on the board:

http://resources.schoolscience.co.uk/CDA/16plus/copelech2pg4.html

Copper circuit traces resist current flow as they heat, creating more heat (BTU"s). This is a smaller problem on properly designed, implemented and used circuit (current flow capacity). I am intimately experienced (the black out of 2003) with this this effect as it causes power line sag from heating.
The induced internet withdrawal that event would of caused today would be horrifying. biggrin.gif

For silicon Die(s) [GPU, VRM, control silicon, etc...]:

http://electronics.stackexchange.com/questions/13873/why-exactly-do-chips-start-malfunctioning-once-they-overheat

The simple version is Silicon component leakage increases as temperatures rise. Now the voltage control circuits purpose is to supply the GPU with consistent operating voltage @ Frequency. Now as a result of maintaining circuit forward Voltage, circuit forward current (Amperage) increases as a direct result of reduced circuit Resistance. The important part is W = V x A. To put this another way. At a constant voltage, current flow will increase as resistance decreases. The math is A = V/R or properly expressed I = E/R.
Now CPUs and GPUs are excellent space heaters, as energy in (W) maps very well to BTU's produced.
One other thing. Maintaining Voltage levels @ higher Current flows greatly heats the VRM as well.

The short version is "Keep it cool to reduce temperature induced current flow". thumb.gif
