We are having our monthly Foldathon from Monday 17th - 19th 12noon EST.
Would you consider putting all that power to a good cause for those 2 days? If so, come sign up and fold with us - see attached link.

October Foldathon

To get started:

1.Get a passkey (allows for speed bonus) - need a valid email address
http://fah-web.stanford.edu/cgi-bin/getpasskey.py

2.Download the folding program:

Enter your folding name (mine is the same as my OCN name)
Enter your passkey
Enter Team OCN number - 37726

later

Cheers! I was interested in this next time I got an AMD card but have never done folding before. I can just leave my system on doing this 24/7? It is in a loop and stays very cool even under heavy stress for long gaming periods. Would love to stress this system to the max as often as possible (don't have time to game every day) to see if any of the hardware has a weakpoint..rather it fail now and replace it than later. I can't stand letting my system sit in a bench all day because it causes too much coil whine and the system is in my living/work area. Does folding have the same effect in regard to coil whine?

It's nice to see people put their old cards next to their Fury Nitro. I guess I experienced the biggest upgrade xD;

I have pretty much the exact same card except it's a 6870. Same cooler though, and Sapphire.

Unfortunately, it's dead... been dead for years. It was in another computer and my brother played games on it without turning on the fan profile, it overheated and the card died (no worries, he replaced it with a 270X).

There's a before and after for me.

My Sapphire 280x out and my Sapphire Fury Nano in and the RMA Nano has voltage control... biggrin.gifdevil.gif

update: Okay I know these cards are hot, but 1.7million Celsius isn't exactly "Hot" that's Scorched Earth Hot.... lol Unigine.... >_> really though it tapped at 65c.

Anyway +rep for info, rolling with FreeSync in DS1 is simple and easy TBH smile.gif .

Thanks for the rep+ thumb.gif. But I don't know what is happening because D3Doverider seems to don't be working some times. I have tested it, but it worked one time and not more. But years ago with win7 it was working. It was the only way to see more than 30fps (or half fps than Hzs) and don't see tearing wit DS1. But I have searched about FreeSync and with vsync off it is not showing tearing, so it isn't a problem for you.

So I'm trying to decide between a Nano and Fury X and I would really appreciate some advice and opinions.

I will need to cool the processor and the graphics together on a single 120mm radiator (I know this isn't ideal but this is mostly for aesthetics). The processor is a Broadwell 5775C which is slightly undervolted with stock clocks. I'm pretty sure the Nano will work in this cooling setup. What I need your help with is the Fury X. Its listed TDP is much higher at 275W but reviews seem to show it drawing 225W to 250W. Is the Nano really much more power efficient due to chip binning, or is much of its lower TDP due to clocks and throttling? If I undervolt and underclock a Fury X, do I get something close to a Nano in terms of performance? Exactly how would I go undervolting and underclocking it to realize this? With the Fury X, I know I have the option to air cool the processor and get the full performance out of the graphics card. Could I get Fury X performance out of a Nano somehow? If so, how? The Nano is also known for coil whine. Is coil whine a problem on the Fury X?

Thanks
