This is the first computer I built myself. It's a great little thing, not as beefy as most of the other builds found on oc dot net, but it gets the job done and it gets the job done quite well. When I put this thing together, I wanted a rig that would output the most GPU power while having the lightest possible price tag. At the time, that meant buying a 7970 and putting that thing with less powerful components. That meant losing out on the overclocked CPU, since there was no way to fit that in my budget of ~€800 while still having the 7970, which is still a more powerful GPU than most mainstream graphics cards coming out today.

For the money I put into this rig, I'm quite happy with how it runs.

Slowly but surely though, I'm going to upgrade this little rig, with an emphasis on functionality, aesthetics and quiet operation. The next big upgrade should be to the processor (I'm looking at you, Skylake), if the gains in performance are there.

CPU: i5 4670
CPU Cooler: Scythe Katana 4
Motherboard: MSI B85M-P33
GPU: Sapphire Dual-X 7970 (OC)
PSU: Corsair GS600 (600W)
Storage: Crucial M500 SSD (256 Gb) // Seagate HDD (500 Gb)
Case: Fractal Design Core 1000
