7950 dual-x with a r9 280x dc2 ? - Page 2

Dual cards just aren't as nice as using a single card, crossfire is plagued with problems, you'll forever be troubleshooting games to try and make them work.

As for the fans grinding .... You could try to reseat the cooler and see if that helps. It wouldn't hurt to put some better thermal paste on their either, like mx4 which isn't conductive.[/quote)

The fan are cheap crap like all sapphire product.... yea i hate them cheap vrm bad design and stupids low end fan that rattle for no reason.

The bearing where grinding because they cant handle load. Love chinesse engineering....................

The gpu got rmaed for problem and still have problem. and for the thermal paste it already on Mx-4

925mhz i can run at 1.075v so yea that my second option if i cant handle 1070.

And for the Crossfire Problem i dont know why but i love tweaking im currently browsing on neweeg just for fun making build and thing ahah smile.gif

That why i want to use crossfire too if it that bad i will just resell the sapphire for like 100$

The rep for CF and amd gpu drivers is bad, and could be more timely for CF profiles, but the implementation is about the same as SLI. Just my 2cents.gif

I ordered my 4x4 gskill trident x next step is the gpu.

Or maybe a raspberry pi 2. Seem interresting to play with but cost $$$ for low performance aha

So you don't have the 7950+280x in there yet and your already hitting 90c vrms on the sapphire card? Also those are some nice stick. I just got a 2x4gb set for my apu build and love em.

at 925mhz and 1.075 volt the fan dont even climb up in game. But 1070 core the vrm push 80c ... 90c is mostly if run occt At worst im running 1000 1025 or something with lower voltage.

But the sapphire gpu is going in the lower slot so it should still run at these temp

Happy to hear that you love the ram i expect them to fit nicely with the msi dragon claw heatsink biggrin.gif

I think the 4x4 will maybe perform better because of the lower ram amount per stick. And the 4x4 was cheaper than the 2x8 currently. Dont think i will need 32gb

Did not see your post. Did you already tried crossfire? I heard the latest driver since like 1 years ago are lot better. But i may be wrong.

So much project but no idea where to start ahah

Replace my headphone ath m50

Get more gpu horsepower something

Get a mechanical keyboard the 200$ logitech

Try to see a 4k gaming screen with crysis 3 or something

Raspberry pi for fun and maybe overclock.

Long list to go out of pc gaming ahah

Nope, they'll run at their own clock and they won't "wait" for each other. A 7950 and 280x will be faster than 2 7950s, but slower than 2 7970s if they all ran at the same clock. Don't worry about the faster card slowing down to "wait" for the slower card, this has been fixed quite a while ago.

Oh great i read that somewhere but never found anyone that seemed to be sure on that information.

Gonna try out to lock fps in arma 3 and see if i really want more gpu power to push more graphic option Sure most of the time the gpu is at 100% but im over 30 fps and sometime im cpu bound at 30 fps with 50% gpu usage at 5760x1080..

Wanted to try that but sold my old ram doh.gif

if not im just going to wait because my other game Beam NG do not seem to benefit from crossfire so it seem im gonna run that 7950 for long. Until i can afford something worth the money something with like 100% more power than the current 980 biggrin.gif
