i guess you'll have to wait to plug it in now.

Yeah I'll have to wait. If it's a Windsor I'll probably switch to the 6400+ right away. If it's a Brisbane I'll spend some time trying to OC it. But might just go with the 6400+ from the start for saving time. Love the 6400+. First gaming computer consisted of a Athlon X2 4050e and a NVIDIA IGP. 6400+ was the first CPU I bought after I began PC gaming. Bought it for $5 because it had 1/8-1/4 the pins bent. Went in to surgery mode, straightened everything plugged it in and BAM it worked. Then paired it with a 4850. I lent the 6400+ and a 4850 to someone but they are building a new PC in the next month or two. When I get those back I'll probably pair the 6400+ or OCed Brisbane with the two Radeon 4850 I have for a dedicated old pc game machine (aka PC for little kids that visit). That way they don't mess with the other Desktops or Laptops.

.:edit:.

Ah wait. I have a Sempron processor unlocked to a Athlon II X2. That might be a better CPU to use. Choices, choices.

Depending on how much time I have I'll try OCing both the 3600+ and the Sempron 130 unlocked to Athlon II X2. If I can get the unlocked Sempron into 3GHz territory it would perform much better than the Windsor/Brisbane CPUs (should perform a bit better in some situations at 2.6GHz already).

But the point of the 6400+/3600+ + 4850 crossfire though is for pairing a CPU and GPU both from the same time period (2008). Going with the slightly newer Sempron/Athlon II (2011) lessens the nostalgia
