Thanks, that's some good news, more points on the "it is possible" side smile.gif

I wonder if anyone has 4 sticks working at 1600Mhz (at least) and could share the specific MAKE/MODEL of the memory?

I'd like to upgrade haha

So did you take the RED pill or the BLUE pill?

Did you order the 4GB sticks? tongue.gif

EDIT:
I found some 4x4GB Patriot sector 5 for cheap, going to give it a try to see what happens smile.gif

Holt has stated not just that Moore’s Law is coming to an end in practical terms, in that chip speeds can be expected to stall, but is actually likely to roll back in terms of performance, at least in the early years of semi-quantum-based chip production, with power consumption taking priority over what has been the fundamental impetus behind the development of computers in the last fifty years.

It stalled around 5 years ago... hullo!

Let me know if you have any luck getting 16GB working with SLI. I just sold the Q9550 that came with the 790i FTW board. I haven't had a chance to start the new build. It's going to take some time as I'm going to need to need to mod my case to get a radiator in there for a LEPA LPWAC240-HF water cooler.

I also need to do the Xeon mod again on the EVGA board, modify the bios, and move one of my X5470 chips from another build.

Have you guys had problems with the board recognizing the storage devices?

Never had that issue here... could that have been with the 780 chipset maybe?

I cant remember if it's the 780 or 90 or 90i etc. How would I go about fixing such an issue?

What motherboard make/model? What size HD? Is HD detected in another PC(confirmed)?

is there a way to check what mb model it is? I tried dxdiag in win+run, GFE doesn't say anything and neither does device manager.
