arn't the high end stuff supposed to be released first? Titan x should have been released before gtx 980 corrected.

When you have a competitor like AMD, and when your mid range stuff (GK114/GM204) can beat the opponents high-end there is no reason to release the big guns right away. Just like how Rockstar released GTAV for the 360/PS3, and then came out with the versions for the One and PS4, and finally the PC. Promotes more income over the length of the product.

I'm not new to overclocking, I've been doing this since the days of the 486DX2 and Cyrix processors (which kicked butt back then). But I've always had a issue with someone that modifies the cards components. And says hey look at this "World Record"......pfft

If an athlete uses steroids for his world record time, he'd be disqualified, banned from the sport.

I'd be far more impressed if it was done without modifications and out of the box capabilities with extreme cooling. It should represent what the consumer gets, not some Frankenstein creation. Strange irony is, using modified drivers for a bench invalidates your score, but this is ok?

Odd....very odd.

Toyota makes V8 engines that flow over 20 gallons of nitro methane per second producing over 8000 horsepower running the quarter mile in less than 3 seconds. It's still an engine but it's been modified to push the limits of metallurgy and power. Sure they rebuild it EVERY RUN in 15 minutes but hey that's funny car racing. Same thing here. Sure its still a Titan X but the absolute limits of the "engine" (GPU Core) are being pushed to the limits of chip engineering and for that I am so beyond amazed. Think of them as the blower bolted to a dragster that take 850HP just to turn them over! On the other side of the fence they add more than 2,000 horsepower!!! I love this kinda stuff.

Same people fussing about these heavy mods wouldn't have batted an eyelash at doing a pencil mod 10 years ago. How do they think it all got started?

It's weird seeing the mentality change of the community since ohhh abut 2007 when I started browsing.
If you're a not an enthusiest, why would you be on OCN? Makes no sense to a guy like me.

Brilliant OC for this card, and lets many of us that own the card tip over the fence towards Water cooling to squeek a little more juice out of this expensive card we paid for in my opinion.

My 2 are going under water.

It's a shame they don't allow custom skews of the titan, a Titan X EVGA ACX/MSI skew cooler would hit MONSTER clocks.1500-1600 relativley easily.

It would even further the distance of POWA.
