Subnautica

This has caught my attention lately. Made by the Natural Selection 2 devs, it's an Early Access underwater survival game (yep, another one of those). However it's a bit unique, being set in an underworld alien world and not your average zombie ridden land. Early reviews are looking promising, and so is the devs roadmap. Worth checking out I guess.

- Sea Bases:

- The Cyclops. A constructable submarine, because why not?:

A little caution to those who are thinking of buying this game, I originally bought it with the intent of immediately building an underwater facility thing. It wasn't so simple as you would think, you need to get a whole slew of components before you can properly build one. And what does that mean? Lots of exploring, and lots of drowning. So make sure you build alot of oxygen tanks early on in the game until you have at least 100 capacity. It'll make scavenging the sea floor alot more efficient.

You can always use the console to get an infinite amount of resources but that takes some of the fun out IMO, the game has a lot of cool biomes to explore. But yeah you definitely need a couple of oxygen tanks and a seaglide to start off with.

This game deserves so much more attention than it gets. It's one of the most unique games out there and the developers actually do Early Access right with frequent feedback and updates. The latest one makes farming viable and it's always exciting to wonder what they'll implement next and how awesome the final game will be.

It supports VR too... for when VR prices become more attractive. tongue.gif

I'm really looking forward to this game being finished. The way Unknown Worlds does development though it could be up to a year after release before the game really reaches it's full potential. NS2 probably took 1-2 years after the official launch to really get to be a great game. Still I have bought it and will support Unknown Worlds because they are an incredibly ambitious dev team with some amazing Ideas.

I really love the feeling that Subnautica gives.

new to the party with the 20% discount during the weekend!!

I cannot believe there is no dedicated thread about this game on this forum. Not because I felt the game is THAT good, but it seems to be pretty popular on steam reviews.

Anyway, still starting out. Probably haven't even scratched the surface of the game. Anyone else bought the game recently? I heard there's already a lot to offer in this game (so even if the devs abandon the game, it's still worth its 15 bucks price tag as it stands)
