"The superlaser was composed of several exotic matter beams accelerated and amplified by gigantic focusing magnetic lenses and coils, producing a single powerful beam. Unlike turbolasers, it pulled energy from a massive hypermatter core, converting the energy present in hyperspace into highly unstable particles that were tremendously destructive in normal space. The energy delivered into a target was so great that it could cause the target's atoms to split into matter-antimatter pairs and annihilate themselves, creating hundreds of miniature singularities while generating a powerful surge capable of rupturing the barrier between normal space and hyperspace"

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Superlaser

Its basically a particle beam that casues matter to split into matter and anti matter which then detonate. I didn't actually know this...the concept behind this weapon is really scary, in theory it should be able to destroy anything it shoots. Absolutely anything as long as its made up of matter.

If you people are concerned about these near Earth Objects happening around us. We should support this foundation founded by former NASA Astronauts

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B612_Foundation

They are currently developing a satellite that could detect such incidents

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sentinel_Space_Telescope

As of now, this is one of the solutions to let people know when there is a huge asteroid whooping our a$$.

Just sharing though. wink.gif

I think the accommodations between them more than make up for the difference in gaming technology.  I know which one I would choose...but then, I guess I'm not much of a gamer either... biggrin.gif

I think it's far more likely to be some dark interstellar object traveling at great speed... that we won't see until it's too late.

Hell even some of the recent near misses weren't caught until they were relatively near.

Asteroid hit, shockwave should hit your part of the world in around 1 minute

We need 24/7 public Earth observation satellites so we can watch it while it happens.
