[Guru3D, TechSpot] EA Infects Battlefield Hardline with new ghastly DRM - Page 21

I can only recall a couple of times when its been at this point and it was a few years ago now with Starforce and Ubisoft's always online rubbish with Assassins Creed 2. Both of which are now no longer around so it seems that they are trying to make DRM as unobtrusive as possible for paying customers. But anyway as pointed out this wasn't any from of DRM by EA.

Where the do you get the idea its dead from? Always plenty of full 64 man servers here in the EU thumb.gif

EU may definitely be a different story. According to BF4stats, there are 29,000 players on right now. This is what I see on my server list (this is after going down many, many pages and then sorting by player count). I know it's 2PM EST, but even last weekend it was this deserted. Not to mention it's Spring Break right now. There are very few good servers alive. Most of the populated ones are running crap like Rush, Chain Link, Carrier Assault, TDM, and/or Metro-tier maps. And, lol, Hardline actually has even less players from the looks of it.

I really don't think it will affect BF4 that much. I have around 50 friends on my Battlelog and one that plays Hardline. The online numbers don't look all that different compared to before Hardline was released either. A lot of hardcore BF fans don't support what they did with Hardline at all.

I definitely don't; this is the first Battlefield I ever skip out on. Yes, I even bought the atrocities that were BF:Modern Combat and Bad Company 1 on consoles, and played Play4Free and Heroes for some time.

I don't blame you. I bought it because I thought the betas were a lot of fun. I am not having near as much fun in the full game. I usually put close to 1000 hours in BF games. I may not get to 100 in Hardline. I have already gone back to playing BF4 a lot and the game hasn't been out two weeks.

I'm going to go against the grain and all the sheep EA haters on OCN.

I actually like BF Hardline. It's concept and gameplay is a breath of fresh air in the FPS market. And tbh, this whinge about the DRM is from a reviewer who used 8 different graphics cards in his testing rig - EIGHT!!!

The very very very large mayority will be lucky to swap out their gaming rig's graphics cards twice over the life of a BF game, let alone 8 times.

Seriously, ppl will do anything to jump on the hate EA bandwagon...

You cant defend Hardline. To me it looks like a evolution of DLC from Battlefield 3 - Close Quarters
