[Guru3D, TechSpot] EA Infects Battlefield Hardline with new ghastly DRM - Page 22

If there is a secret EA rep reading this thread, I haven't given your company money for battlefield since battlefield 3 original release. Get it together or suffer worse and worse margins as the playerbase catches up with reality of the quality of game they're getting. :/

Dude, that makes no sense at all. These people changed their hardware ID, they didn't cheat.

What this video is implying, is that cheaters are going to change their hardware 8 times in a day to get around bans, and that is why this 8 machine ID super ban is in effect? The logics fails so hard. They video tries to say that EA made this ban policy because someone asked for it, saying that even cheaters wont change their machines that much because of the diffuculty. BUT DESPITE THAT DIFFICULTY, EA made a super ban at 8 machine ID changes, DESPITE IT BEING MORE DIFFICULT AND UNREASONABLE FOR A CHEATER TO DO THIS.

Logic fails. Logic just fails.

I can't believe people are actually still trying to defend this.

I don't even understand how this will stop pirates. It just makes no sense to me... what is it supposed to do?

This is only going to hurt people who have actually paid for the game. I don't even see how this will stop cheaters, since anti-cheat software is usually bypassed like the same week the game comes out it seems.

I'm glad BF3 and BF4 don't have this crap "DRM," or my game would be locked as well. I have definitely changed my computers configuration 8 times since those games have come out....

It's not for pirates. BF is 90% MP game. It's for cheaters, account hackers.

Oh, wow i just actually read the whole article now. It only locks if you change hardware config 8 times in 24 hours, and if you get locked, it's only 24 hours.
So this is a total non-issue then.

I don't think they're defending this as much as they are just pointing out how much of a non-issue it is.

The outrage for this non-DRM DRM that won't even affect 99.997% of the players is really dumb. Like.. really really dumb.

This is the internet, people love a fight you say black they say white. They will defend anything to the death.
