Temps REALLY hot!

Thread Starter
I just built my girlfriend a new PC and used a soyo dragon P4IPE with a P4 2.4. Went with the board cause it was free from tiger direct after mail in rebates.

So now it's all nice and put together but my temps are reading in crazy numbers in MBM. At idle they are at 92 degrees celsius, and under load above 110. Now im thinking it's got to do with the fact MBM did not have my exact board in the list during setup, so i just picked the closest one. Would that cause the reading to be off? In my BIOS its reading around 32 C.

I have a thermaltake spark setup for the fan and heatsink and its controlled by the MB temps. If the temps were really that high it would be going all out right? Yet it sounds like it's just cruzin along.

O yea and my case temps are like -1 C.

Anyone know another temp utility to use?

Thanks
Daniel

It sound like you say mbm is not reading your mobo correctly best bet is to check in the bios screen and get your first set of temps you could try a piece of software clled everest that give temps but again your board might not be supported

mbm stopped development months and months ago, so its certainly a program specific problem... keep in mind tho, other programs may not fully support that particular board either

your best bet is speedfan - www.almico.com/speedfan.php ... takes almost no resources and supports all sorts of hardware, has tons of features... you could also go with something like everest, pc wizard, etc.

Its close actually. Ambient temps in my house are at 62 currently and that sensor is around the first floor (im in a basement). Since heat rises and my computer is not only in the basement but also on the cement floor it can be quite cold. So really the temps are quite close.

you mean to tell me you are getting sub-ambient temps? 62F is 16 2/3*C
if i could even get ambient i would rejoice
