LOL exactly.

Some people are acting like this puts their mid-range card up there with the 980/TitanX tongue.gif

Those results seemed extremely low to me for a 290x. I know star swarm has variance in each run, so I just did three runs of it. All of the tests were between 69-75fps, which seemed fairly consistent results.

All tests were ran using the follow scenario at extreme settings, same as anandtech. I set my 4690k to 3.8ghz to match anandtech's emulated 4670 and put my 290x to stock clocks.

I don't know how Anandtech got 45.6fps for their Mantle test, but it definitely is not representative of the performance I get.

Maybe the Windows 10 DX12 driver from AMD messes something up with Mantle atm?

Ty that is exact experience I have had also I always knew the anandtech results were off and I referred to he could find graphs and such going both ways but anandtech's was truly on the low end of the spectrum of results I have experienced / seen.

Your results put it at and above what the 980 gets on star swarm so yes this is very good to see so people get a true idea of what is being represented the anandtech results for the 290X are off majorly.

You guys have to remember that it's a completely random benchmark...

It's not the same on every PC.

I know, that is why I did 3 runs of the benchmark, and they stayed within a certain range, and non were remotely near anandtech's. Anandtech's might have been a really unlucky run, but they should have done more than one run. It might have been bad test drivers for windows 10 or something, but if so people should really stop using that chart as a valid benchmark, as it is not representative of actual performance.

I think It's going to be months before we have any sort of realistic comparison.

AMD is not only taking dx12 to themselves this time, freesync is truly legit: ranging from 9hz to 240hz is just insane compare to their counterpart's 30hz to 144hz, AMD will hit hard this time thumb.gif

Nvidia definitely won't stand this and I can see pascal coming fast! And if these charts are potential results I can imagine Nvidia hitting back with a driver update instead. For AMD I think the software part is almost done and dusted, now bring on the 390x to solve this 4k crisis, ow! And 5k is here too remember biggrin.gif
