Next monitor?

I have had my 24" asus 1080p monitor for a long time now. I am thinking of getting a monitor with better resolution. My question is with a 200-300 budget which type of resolution can I expect to get while still having a high quality monitor?

Do you want to move up to 2560x1440? If so at that price range you're probably best going with a korean import which can be had for a little under $300

Ebay or Amazon, lots of places to choose from, look for a QNIX QX2710 or maybe a Catleap Q270 SE. I have no idea why people are trying to sell Catleaps on ebay for $1500+. Avoid the multiple input versions if you want to be able to overclock them over 60 Hz (DVI-D only).

I didn't even know monitors could be overclocked. Would it be fine if I didn't? Also what do you think about one of these:

You don't need to overclock it but they do 96 Hz quite nicely and it is a big improvement. It is usually pretty easy with your 480 GTX (the Nvidia drivers have a way to add custom resolutions or frequencies pretty easily).

Those are exactly the QNIX I was talking about. smile.gif
