I'm in need of a new graphics card, probably can't wait any longer for the coming radeon cards so ill need to get a new card.

Though of getting a 970 but i only play games at 1080p, and i don't even play that much anymore (would at least like to upgrade though) so i'd like something better than a radeon 7850. (so i picked the 960, i also NEED at LEAST TWO DP ports, the only radeon card that i would get would be the 280x from sapphire but i can't be bothered waiting for shipping as it comes from another shop, and it costs a bit more)

I narrowed it down to two choices, the evga ssc and the gigabyte g1.

To be honest i really don't know what to get, i may overclock sometime but i really can't be bothered with dealing with a bsod.
Also would like a quiet card. But if sound difference is negligible then........
The pricing on both cards are exactly the same from the shop im getting it from.

Which would you pick and why?

I recently upgraded from a Gigabyte gtx 660 to a 960. I actually narrowed it down to the exact same two cards and ended up going with the EVGA SSC version. It's been great so far and I'd recommend it.

They both have loads of cooling for the 960. I have a Gigabye G1 960 in one of my workstations and it works great. Folding at full load with stock fan profile it stays in the low 60s C. Only complaint is that it is heavy with the large heatsink and can sag in tower cases. The evga one might be lighter.

I actually bought the Gigabyte GTX 960 OC 2x Windforce version. It uses the same pcb as the G1. I Flashed to the G1 bios and running like a champ smile.gif

Overclocked to 1550/2000 so far without any voltage tweaks.
