[STEAM] Resident Evil 5 / Biohazard 5 (Re-Release)

Thread Starter
It is a free, no cost conversion if you have already purchased Resident Evil 5. Mine just converted automatically. This incorporates SteamWorks so you have Achievements now. Also GFWL get a free STEAM version, with GFWL removed.

You don't get the GOLD edition (DLC) for free, but it is available to purchase like it was on the console. I have been waiting 5 years to play RE5 on PC (complete).

Game (-66%): 6.80
Game + DLC (Gold Edition -30%): $20.99
Untold Stories Bundle DLC: $14.99

I personally recommend RE5 at this price. It's definitely worth a 21$ experience.

If you already own regular RE5 through either Steam or a boxed retail Games For Windows Live, you can acquire a free Steamworks copy of the base game and then purchase the new Gold Edition content for $14.99.

If you don't own RE5 in any form, you can pick up the entire game (RE5 + Gold Edition content) at a discount price for a limited time. The standard RE5 is also still available, and is also on sale.

For those who didn't already know, Gold Edition was originally released for Xbox 360 and PS3 back in March 2010 - making this week the game's fifth anniversary. Gold Edition collected all the DLC released to that point, including a versus mode, four new costumes, Mercenaries Reunion and two new story-based chapters.

These last 12 months have brought allot of re-releases for games such as Resident Evil and Final Fantasy. Some were good, but this one really feels like a cash grab instead of a proper re-release. Nothing new here besides asking $15 for two DLCs for a five year old game that was barely memorable. If anyone had this Resident Evil game as their introduction to the franchise, I feel bad for them.

Now what Capcom really need to do is a Resident Evil 2 remaster. Drowning. In. Money.

Resident Evil 3 remaster, with Nemesis in HD, the most terrifying character in the series.

Is this a good PC port? Especially mouse controls (NO ACCELERATION) and performance?

Personally I liked 5, I know there are few that don't. But IMO it was a decent game, and has better controls than 4.

I liked 4 and 5 the best, Not a big fan of the control schemes the older games used. I played a fair amount of 2 and 3 back when I was a kid, but after 4 came out. I wish all those older games would get the 3rd person shooter treatment.

6 was garbage though.

I already own 5, so it does seem like I got the upgrade for free. biggrin.gif

It is a great PC port.

Can't say that about 4, granted 4 on the PC plays fine with a controller. IMO the best way to experience RE4, Graphic wise just blows away what was found on the GC.
