[EurOGamer] The Legend of Zelda Wii U delayed until 2016 - Page 2

Good, I will gladly wait.

At least Nintendo hasnt resulted to dropping under-developed products to appeal to share holders yet. Hopefully they never do.

Kind of a disappoint, but knowing Aonuma's team usually pours heart and soul into a Zelda game... I can respect it. Worrisome, though, because this is gonna hit Nintendo real hard in 2015 Q4. Zelda is a major, major boost to their consoles, and without it they're gonna need a real good punch to grab buyers. Splatoon and Star Fox are awesome, but not sure they'd be considered console sellers.

It's close to the end of the Wii U's cycle, too, kinda like Skyward Sword was. Almost wonder if they should save it for the NX, but I guess that depends on how far they've gotten in development, if any distance at all.

Maybe by NES standards it was good but it holds up terribly IMO. I've been playing the entire series over this year, only 4 to go.... but the original is my least favorite.

It's not the size as much as the way it's laid out. There's really nothing for you to go on. You just kind of go off and explore without any idea of where you're going, and that's what I love about it. It's the sense of adventure it gives you, the lack of hand-holding. I had the map from the original NES game that I would draw all over with things I had found, and I'd reference it later if I needed to. It was actually the first game I ever beat as a kid without a strategy guide, just because I played it so much and used the map. It was the challenge of having to use your instincts, gut feelings, and skill instead of a UI that tells you where to go and what's in the distance like in Skyrim or Oblivion that I enjoyed so much.

Not to say the other games are bad, I just prefer how Zelda 1 did things. thumb.gif

Skyward Sword definitely had way, way too much handholding.
Hopefully they do actually let you run off in any direction from the very start. Finding things while exploring is much more satisfying.
They should sell a $40 single level demo for people who don't know the controls.

They did the same thing with the Twilight Princess. It's possible that they'll release it on the NX, but probably won't wait that long. They'll just make a revamped version or something to go at launch.

The last thing the gaming industry needs is Nintendo rushing games.

They delayed many games in the LoZ saga, and one of the most delayed ones (The Wind Waker) is still my favourite game of the saga and my favourite game in the history of gaming.

So as far as I am concerned, the same as I said for Rockstar. If delays mean a game at least as good as the previous one, go for your life.

I'm right there with you, though 40 bucks is a bit excessive, no? tongue.gif

Personally, I think just having an option for hand-holding or not would be best. Like if you need tips or help on where to go/how to play, the option is there, but people like us who just want to go hard and do everything themselves can just turn it off. Imagine if Fi just asked if you wanted her help or not at the start of the game instead of constantly butting in without any way to stop her. Would have been far nicer imo.

They just need to go back to encouraging the gamer to figure out the controls via gameplay. Big issue across the board. See: Mega Man X Sequelitis by Egoraptor.

The "new gameplay opportunities" are probably on the NX. It would make sense since the other rumor is that AMD is making a new APU for a console in 2016. This game with either be a cross-gen or the Wii U version will be cancelled due to the system not being able to run it.

It's funny. I was just talking to my buddy a f ew weeks back about this game. I told him there was NO way this game was coming out 2015 and not to trust that date. I can't believe people expected it out this year when there has been practically no videos or info released on the game. Then top off the trend of every game being delayed and then 80% of those games being broken on day 1. I am shocked BF Hardline is working for me without problems.
