Cooling 4790k and Dual 7990

Thread Starter
Hi guys

Wondering if I could get any tips on cooling a i7-4790k and Crossfired 7990s. The Specs of the computer are:

Processor: i7-4790k
GPU: 2x7990
RAM: Dominator Platinum 2133MHz 16GB
Case: Corsair 760t
PSU: AX1200i
Motherboard: MSI Gaming 5
SSD: Crucial 500GB

So far for the cooling I have these parts thought out:

CPU Waterblock: Swiftech Apogee XL
GPU Waterblock: 2x XSPC Razor 7990
Radiator: 360mm + 240mm
Fittings: Lots of XSPC Compression Fittings (3/8")
Tubing: Primoflex Advanced LRT Red 3/8x5/8
Biocide: Silver killcoil

I'm not sure on the pump and reservoir to go for, though I would prefer to only have to have one of each if possible. I would also like a watercooling bridge over the two cards if possible.

Many thanks

XSPC sells those bridges and are available in different slot (depending on your spacing).

Pumps - I prefer D5 variant. Quiet and dependable pump.

If you want to save space, I see people use the Photon res with D5 pump.

Would the D5 handle all the radiators and waterblocks fine?

If you are going to play some console port games.and you use max settings they could use above above 3GB vram.better invest for a card with more vram if you will play some console port

I already have the 7990s, and with DX12 coming in and possibly stacking VRAM I'll stick to my guns.

only will allow different vram usage if the game/cf profile allows SFR(or does someone knows a different way?)on AFR you will only use 3GB

Well Mantle already supports VRAM stacking, and when DX12 becomes standard game devs will start utilising it.
