[GAMESPOT] Dark Souls II Remaster on PC Will Cost You $20, $30, $40, or $50 - Page 5

I'm kind of a sucker because I bought a new controller for DS2 + DS2 when it came out for the PS3, I got to the end and ended up playing other stuff.

I bought an Xbox One last week solely to game with friends and plan on playing the remaster with them.

Oh for sure it's an amazing deal for new buyers, but once again it's just another game in a long line of games that show us we should never buy games near launch. Always wait for the better "remastered" version that comes complete and cheaper.

The excuse is that it was a previous gen console game which were only DX9. Many games that were ported over from the previous gen were only DX9. Even The Witcher 2 was only DX9 and that was developed for the PC and later ported to the 360.

It's being labeled as a DX11 upgrade on the PC, but is it more than that? Is it something like Metro Redux or more like the Crysis 2 + HD texture patches? Would it look better if they hadn't of offered the dx9 version for 10 buck cheaper? The prices still seem high considering that it's not a new game.

Well, my point is, if it's just some texture upgrades and nothing else, it should be free patch or what ever. If it's actually more than that, then the price is justified.

And because last gen consoles were DX9 does not mean devs can fly that excuse around for PC?

For example, yeah GTA has been delayed for an huge amount of time but have yo seen the latest screens? I had it on PS3 and it looked nothing even close to what it supposed to be on PC, I doubt DS2 will be the same (this new one).

If this was demons' souls (yes i know DeS is console only) or dark souls 1, i would be all over it. Dark souls 2 just didn't have "it" (IMO).
