[GAMESPOT] Dark Souls II Remaster on PC Will Cost You $20, $30, $40, or $50 - Page 6

I don't like it. I'd rather they just jump on Dark Souls 3 and release it at the end of this year or next year.

Well I'd also take a Demon's Souls remaster biggrin.gif

As someone who has yet to play DS:2 and someone who will not buy a PS4 for one game (Bloodborne) this seems like a deal to me. 49.99 vs 69.96 (pricing from steam) I think I will pick this up and save the 20. I do agree it is BS that they did NOT launch the game in dx11 in the first place. But what can you do when "consoles come first".

The most I said I would buy the upgrade for is $20 (I have all the DLC), but I still don't know if I can buy it. I mean, the multiplayer is separate from the DX9 version AND your saves don't carry over. That's a hard move after all the hours I put into it and starting all over again.

You can tell the devs to take the game and stuff it, then spend your money on a product made by a company that treats their customers with respect.

And because last gen consoles were DX9 does not mean devs can fly that excuse around for PC?

For example, yeah GTA has been delayed for an huge amount of time but have yo seen the latest screens? I had it on PS3 and it looked nothing even close to what it supposed to be on PC, I doubt DS2 will be the same (this new one).

It does actually; They have been doing it for a long time. There are many games that were given DX 11 enhancements, but there are more that weren't. It's not standard practice to use DX 11 for last-gen console ports. GTAV wasn't released on the PC the same time it was on the PS3/Xbox360. They held it back since they were also making current-gen version so you expect it to have DX 11.

The Remaster won't even look as good as the original with GeDoSaTo or ENB... It will look like the same game, but say DirectX 11 in options! At least that is what I think will happen. I also know that GeDoSaTo and ENB do not work with DirectX 11, so the Remaster version may very much be worthless to users of these utilities.

God I hope nobody buys this game.

This pricing scheme needs to die in it's cradle. This is not a thing gamers want to spread into normal practice of ways to monetize games. Knowing how expansion packs turned into withheld content to throw into DLCs and microtransactions, this can not end well.

Kill it with fire, toss it in the wood chipper, then feed it to the fishes.
