NVIDIA G-Sync and SLI issues [SOLVED]

Thread Starter
Not sure if there are any threads on Overclock.net so far. I tried searching to no avail.

Does anybody here know of the current issue?
I just dropped AUD $2600 on Nvidia technology only to discover that SLI and Gsync work horrendously together.

Many other threads on other forums out there. But i cannot seem to find a fix.
And to be quite honest, i am gutted.

Nvidia, and i quote, have said that "SLI configs and gsync work seamlessly together"

Any fixes or anything, or are we just stuck ?

UPDATE 1 After disabling core parking, the spikes are no more. (In BF3 and BF4, Hardline)
I hope this is an official fix and it helps everyone with the G-Sync and SLI issue

Update 2. So G-sync and SLI are officially NOT perfect.
Some games work, some games don't.

Depending on the SLI rendering methodology, GSYNC will alter its behavior.
This is pretty big news.

UPDATE 3
Back to square one.....

Massive stuttering in almost all SLI scenarios.
I'm confident to say that SLI and Gsync are definitely incompatible at this stage, well at least in my environment.
Even tried re-installing windows.

1 card works perfectly fine with g-sync. Its quite an experience.
Once second card is activated, my games become literally unplayable.

UPDATE 4
Seems to be working much better now, not perfect but much much better.
Tried different RAM and such so YMMV.

Works great here thumb.gif

What games are you playing?

Had 2 and 3-way gtx 980 with Asus swift...

Looks like some have problems, and many does not. Maybe it is the "randomness" og computers tongue.gif

People that does not have problems, do not write about it. People that does, write. wink.gif

Then it looks like "ALL" people have problems right? tongue.gif

Butter smooth here, and I have had Swift since July last year.

Actually, its the other way around unfortunately, many have the issue, and some not.
ive tried with titan Z and now 980 SLI.

Single card works perfectly with gsync and SLI does not.

OK update..... and damn i am so relieved.

Was using perfoverlay.drawgraph 1 in BF4 to monitor the spikes and the yellow bar (CPU) was the culprit.

After disabling core parking, the spikes are no more. (BF3, BF4, Hardline)
I hope this is an official fix and it helps everyone with the G-Sync and SLI issue.

Will continue to update this thread should anything occur.

I think it depends on the game. I had 980's sli with G-Sync enabled in FFXIV. While it showed my framerates at 100+, I could see the micro-stutters. Disabling SLI and using only one card kept my frame-rates high, as this is a cpu bound game. The Micro-stutters disappeared.

G-sync looks alot better when there are no micro-stutters. Using a Rog Swift, btw.

I thought core parking issues was a Win7-thing ... how did you think of that ?
