Will my fx-8350@4.8Ghz bottleneck 2xr9 290 in cf? - Page 2

My .02, I built a rig with an 8350 clocked to 5150mhz with a pair of 290's and I still gained 20-30fps switching to a 3930k in BF4 which should take advantage of the FX chip pretty well. Depends a lot on the game and what monitor/resolution you run. I was using a 120hz screen so I did notice the extra frames, although the AMD build did manage to keep it above 60 99% of the time.

Thanks everybody! I have to look up for this evga 1050 model, it looks interesting to me. However I live in Slovenia, EU, so I won't be ordering from newegg or any other US based webstore. Therefore I have to make sure if they sell those anywhere near me to limit the shipping and postage costs.

Based on your replies, I'll go for it and perform the upgrade. Yes I could also watercool the cards and is definitely my wish, but unfortunately I don't have money nor patience to expand my loop with gpu blocks, more raditors, etc., so I'll have to stay on air with the gpu's at least. I'd really love to get my hands on that evga 1050 though. smile.gif

Compared to Intel there will always be some sort of difference in FPS/Latency in gaming whether using a Single GPU or Dual/Triple/Quad. Will the bottleneck be huge? I don't think so and you will still get great playable performance unless the game does not support Crossfire correctly or being a single threaded game for the CPU. I personally want to get another R9 290 for crossfire but more likely to just save and by the 390x (if a single GPU) along with a new total build. Can't tell the future though.
