Crossover 44K UHD LED 40 Inch Monitor? - Page 217

Hey guys do any of you have a measuremnt of the height and width of the 404k with the stand?

Another question i have is i have a 27 1440p xstar. My question is from what i gather this 40in 4k monitor would be about the same dpi size as a 27 1440p. So if i play company of heroes 2 will it show more area since its a higher rez? Or will it just be bigger overall because the screen is so big? How would this affect rts games with fog of war?
Hope i made sense. Thx

The technical term for game engine zooming the rendered world is Field Of View (FOV). However, in order to correctly set FOV, the game engine should know the distance you are sitting in front of the monitor, and this data is not available. Therefore, a method that sets default FOV for each individual game is essentially a hack. Some games like Crysis don't give this issue much thought and set default FOV to 60 degrees:

Since FOV is essentially a number that can be changed, you just can google how to do that for your particular game. And for first-person shooter you can use low-tech trial and error method described in the last post to estimate correct FOV number:

Haven't posted on the forum in quite a while but I bought a 404k last week and got it today. And... while the size and clarity and resolution is fantastic, I can't deal with the input lag. I have been on a ZR30w which is probably the lowest delay monitor I've used since I do video editing work as well lots of gaming. I thought I would take a gamble and assume people I wouldn't notice, I made that same mistake with the U3011.

I've been using the 404k for about 4 hours now and played some games and I can't really deal with it. Anyone know of some large >34" UHD monitors with only like 1-2 inputs and really low input delay?

When do you get the input lag? in windows or games or both? and how bad is it?

Came from the HP myself and didn't notice any great increase in input lag. Did notice a little more ghosting then the hp though.

But yes verify you're running at 60hz

So the 404k nonfinal version is about $520 on ebay, with the perfect pixel nonfinal only $549. For that small difference I was thinking of getting the perfect pixel. I just wanted to make sure if it's worth paying more for the "final" which is $589 but the perfect pixel is currently over $600. I'm leaning toward the $549 option. Any thoughts?

I'd save my money unless I needed that headphone jack on the panel - that's the only "final" difference.

I bought the perfect pixel from green-sum. I ended up finding a couple of bright pixels and he refunded me the difference. You can get the perfect pixel and always contact him if it isn't what was advertised.

Looks like he's a popular seller; I'm in for one. Thanks.
