Philips also has a faint overdrive shadow on some dark transitions, despire tftcentral not measuring any overshoot.
Not sure how the Crossover handles this

You could give the new iiyama X4071UHSU a shot, it is also flicker free like the 404k and iiyama usually has good overdrive.
But chances are it still has some similarly slow CtC and 0-255 transitions since its using the same panel

Not much info about the iiyama X4071UHSU could even use the same panel as all the other 40 inch va panels.

There are only 2 of these 39.5'' 5000:1 panels for use in monitors.
The TP Vision VA panel in the Philips and a publically traded Super MVA panel by Innolux. I don't know what panel the Crossover and the iiyama are using but the Crossover seems to perform eerily similar to the one on the Philips.
Its even possible they are the same and the TPV panel was sourced at Innolux and then renamed.
Only way to be sure is by looking at the subpixel structure - here is the one on the BDM4065UC

if it looks different on the other monitors then they are not using the same panel

"Its even possible they are the same and the TPV panel was sourced at Innolux and then renamed."

Well, it's quite suspicious that both panels using non-square pixels. However at Tek Syndicate some ppl complained about that the new AMH a409u uses the Innolux version instead of the TPV which is used in the a399u and it showed some improvements.

Yeah I just checked out Tek Syndicate, there might be some different panels out there after all.
Seems the Innolux ones add FRC, come at differing sizes and with another coating.

I see that new egg has this monitor the 404. in all the offerings for it, it list it as a

Crossover 404K UHD LED 40 Inch UHD Computer Monitor 3840x2160 4K 60Hz UHD VA panel Dual DP, MHL Dual HDMI 2.0 (New version of 44K).

My question, to you that have it. Does it have dual display ports? If not what are they referring to with "Dual DP"

Regards: Mike

And to all vets This day, thumb.gif

Not really sure what this is referring too but it does not have 2 display ports.

So what's the consensus here guys? Go with the Perfect Pixel from green-sum for $650 or gamble with the $520 dream-seller option?

I also have a question.

Is it possible to set custom desktop resolutions with scaling turned off to simulate say a 3840-1440 ultra wide monitor in the Nvidia control panel? 4k needs some heavy duty graphics horsepower to push 8+ million pixels and with such a large 40" panel simulating a 23/9 or whatever custom desktot vertical resolution you make will the games see the lets say 3840-1440 as the monitors native resolution ?

I am reaching out to you all here Since I have no 4k monitor to test this theory so any help would greatly appreciated.

I am currently using a LG 34UM95 21/9 panel I guess I could try setting a custom desktop resolution to 3440-1080 and see what happens but I am sure some of you have way more experience than I do at this:thumb:

I just wanted to update you on my custom desktop resolution experiment....In the NV control panel I just tried setting my custom desktop resolution to 3440-1080 with scaling off and it worked perfectly. I fired up War Thunder ground forces and the resolution was in the game to select with no hacking whatsoever. I have black bars across the top and bottom of the screen but I have extra wide surround and so far i like it.I would have to say at 3440-1080 I estimate I am at a 31/10 ratio but i feel like i am wasting a little too many vertical pixels for my liking and I am going to der a 3440-1200 resolution now and try that tongue.gif

Id go with a perfect pixel version and ask em to check it for you. What I did and what I got. I paid a bunch more here in the UK and had to pay import tax/duty on top.
