Been playing most games at 2880x1620 (3K) resolution with EVAGA SSC ACX2.0 960 4GB for lots of games and a few at 4K. I did OC core 1466MHz/memory 8.1GHz however, but handles most games well enough overall if you tweak a few of the more critical performance crutch settings like bloom/Shadows/Lighting/AA. It's worth mentioning the need for AA diminishes a fair amount from 1440p up to 1620p 3K and more at 4K so turning that off or turning it down isn't such a big deal. I don't mind turning those things down or off in general if they hamper frame rate as badly as they often do.

Maxwell is also very energy efficient so it's both cool and quiet plus it performs well when it comes to minimum frame rates which I'm way more concerned about than average frame rates on a video card as it's most important it impacts general choppiness and impact lag alike which are both undesirable boons. Another thing it has support for HDMI 2.0 which most 4K TV's have as opposed to display port the majority don't.

In that review the 4GB was memory clocked lower than the 2GB version for the 1440p tests which kinda negates most of the benefits of having the VRAM. It's clearly seen by the fact that the 2GB version beat in 6 out of 8 of those 1440p tests. If you look at the 1080p tests though for the 4GB OC it beats the R9 380 and consumes less power and has more selling features. They also only got up to 8GHz memory while my EVGA ACX2.0 SSC runs 8.1GHz flawless. I don't regret my GTX960 4GB purchase one bit personally. If you tell me AMD is better I'm sorry if you believe that, I have a bridge to sell you and it doesn't lead to HDMI 2.0 support for my TV.

The issue with 1440p results is the tester got lazy or hadn't bothered or dived into trying OCing yet at that point. I see no real reason to get a R9 380 when you can OC a GTX960 and beat it while using less power consumption especially when the former doesn't OC very well at all and runs hotter and louder and former even OC is both cool n quiet. More importantly it's got HDMI 2.0 so it's more 4K ready between the two as more 4K displays have HDMI 2.0 as opposed to display port.

Anyone else grab the 4gb ssc from newegg this week for $160? Just got mine. May end up throwing on a MCW82 and watercool my htpc.

Any modified 4gb bios floating around?

I did smile.gif what a deal. Haven't hit a wall yet overclocking. Asic is 73 too. Need more time but 1500 boost seems totally doable.

I'm about to throw it in my current htpc rig.

You know the rebate wasn't supposed to be on newegg. When you follow the link in newegg's pdf to the evga rebate, it is listed as 10/15 to 10/18, not 10/31. Call newegg and they'll credit you the difference. If they give you a hard time, the original pdf is still linked on slickdeals.net.

Rebate link is still there... you just have to hunt for it wink.gif

I just went through the rebate process. Most of it was online, I just had to mail in the UPC and Invoice plus the signed rebate form.

Oh, and I'm certain the rebate form let me select up the the 21'st of Oct.

Side note... what is the street value for the Heroes of the Storm key?

Hello everyone. I'm having a problem with uploading my spreadsheet. On GPU-Z it shows that my GPU clock is @ 1258 and my Boost at 1321, while in Heaven Benchmark it showed that the card was running @ 1500-ish MHz. Which number should I upload?

I noticed the number reported by different programs shows me well over 1500MHz with only a +58 in afterburner. Not sure how 1342 + 58 doesn't equal 1400 even.

Even in Afterburner it shows +80MHz and in the Afterburner monitor shows that the card is running @ 1441MHz. I don't know how 1178 + 80 equals 1441 either. I guess I'll just post my GPU-Z stats

The boost amount is dependent on your over voltage at 0nV you need a higher clock offset to reach the same as you would at +100mV boost. For me ironically I found better power efficiency and stability by keeping it at 0mV and keeping my power limit at 60% and 60c GPU temp target, but that's at 1466MHz boost with a 8.1GHz memory overclock. I suspect with a bios mod it would do 8.2GHz stable w/o artifacts and probably 1525/1533 core probably simply needs more voltage applied hell flashing the 4GB FTW edition bios might even do it, but idk haven't been bold enough to try it.
