Maybe it's in there.

Only for the 4gb, would it make a difference?

Don,t do it. Good way to brick your card as they have different hardware inside run by different bios.

Any of you having problems with driver crashes when the card is IDLEing on desktop?
So only if i let my 4GB msi gtx960 underclock to the lowest power state, it starts crashing.
If i set the power mode to "prefer maximum performance" my card stays stable all the time.

This is not the solution because my card now won't underclock.
I tried DDU reinstalls but they didn't help. I'm using latest drivers and win10 64 bit.

I have exactly the same problem, my card won't underclock when idle. It stays on 1329 gpu clock.

I have not, not do I currently plan on, upgrading my driver beyond 368.22 for Win 10.  I have zero problems and I like to keep it that way.  More often than not, there's always an issue with a new driver so I usually wait to get one with all the bugs worked out.  My suggestion, go back to 368.22.

Built a custom gaming PC for a friend of mine with a EVGA 960 FTW 4gb version: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/7737895

Decent build and didn't have to over volt or anything, just kept climbing. CPU overclocked to 4.5 GHz. I keep edging him on about getting a second card to SLI but he's reluctant.

Mine is: http://www.3dmark.com/3dm/12641368?

Compared to the two above, is it safe to say my graphics score is lower due to my lower memory clock speed? I only have 7400MHz effective, the other two above have it at 8000MHz and 8200MHz(!) respectively. I didn't want to go overboard since my memory has no heat pads.

No heat pads? I never looked under the hood for the 960. Go for it though. His was the EVGA FTW GTX 960 4GB and that thing is silent, had to look at things to make sure it was actually turned on. I'm watching my friends house this weekend. He gave me permission to Frankenstein his rig and add a GTX780 as dedicated Physx card and see where things lead.... I'll post results when available.

Yeap my gtx 960 wf2x (the g1 gaming pcb not the smallest) had no thermal pads so i decided to add some(on the gpu side and on the back because i have backplate) and now i dont crash at 8200mhz. So happy biggrin.gif
