We are both in tjhe same boat. I need 1.572 @ 5.5 with an open case. If I close them it becomes a different story mad.gif

Just did a 6Ghz validation run Sweet coolsmiley.png

Which reminds me, maybe I should resume tweaking. I still dont have my board and cpu pushed to a desirable limit.

It's now at 1.56 or 1.57v in the bios. (not sure, once I've got this thing nailed down I will post a series of comprehensive bios settings.)

Here's a pic after the 12 hr run on blend right after I upped the HT link without a voltage increase. The 19min core fail was probably due to ht link voltage (I believe). Just got back from work so I'm going to fix up the HT link, then move on to the NB, and finally either up the ram speed or just tighten the timings.

*edit* more clear image

Whats your HT during the testing, 2600?

I believe so, sorry I didn't reply sooner.

Right now my HT and CPUNB are are 2880ish

So I was at 5.5 stable on prime, now i've decided to push beyond prime stable, but still stable enough for everythign i do like gaming/photoshop/webbrowsing/music ect. All i've been doing is upping my multiplier from what was stable and if i encounter a crash of any kind... I add voltage lol.

Here is where I'm at right now : ) this has been stable for like two 8-12hr gaming sessions

Seeing this makes me want to setup a phase change rig :-)

IDK if I would recommend one. The performance that I'm getting with this 9590 is impressive, but it's noisy, it's ugly (at lest mine is because it's external). I've had to switch from my semi-open headphones back to my closed headphones to really not hear it. It's not hard for me to ignore the hum and the occasional dripping sound but it is there, I also sleep near it no problem as well. The phase unit really pushes out some heat from the back, I have the phase exhaust pointed out the window right now. My AC wasn't working for about a week before it was fixed and I swear the phase change made my room 4 fahrenheit hotter from what everyone else's rooms were before I pointed it out a window lol.

I was recently considering adding the cpu to the custom loop instead, for silence, looks and saving space. I was also hoping that I might be able to keep that 5.5ghz overclock on water without stress testing it. That was when I decided to push beyond prime stable, because who buys a crazy expensive cpu cooler to stay prime stable? pffft, not this guy. My motherboard VRM has the ek waterblock on it and a loop just for it (which was not necessary, but I like to think it helped). I also just ordered koolance water blocks my 295x2's since I decided to skip the 390x generation.

Really I see the performance gains from the phase, but If I did a budget custom loop instead I'm sure it would feel very similar. Most of all, people dont want to see ugly builds like mine, part of me wants to build something that looks super slick that amateurs will gawk at. I'm just jealous of seeing posts on facebook where noobs loose their **** over a sexy build that has pretty basic components, then I post a pic of my rig and the noobs like EW what is that black box? #rawperformanceisntpretty

Hi guys it's been a long time frown.gif but I'm going to school again and it consumes alot of my time so no gaming and ocing atm. I had an R9 290x dying on me but i baked it an hour ago and it's working again so that is good news. Still I won't be enjoying it for a couple of weeks frown.gif.
Regarding the phase change, a custom loop is far more practical that is for sure but I like mine smile.gif The coolness factor of this rig is beyond normal.
I connected the fans of the phase change unit to a fan controller to slow them down and it makes a big difference in noise. I ussually boot a 4.2 Ghz with low fan settings and if I need to game I crank it up to 5.5Ghz and give it a bit more fan speed. This works very well and I have not found any drawbacks atm. The dripping noise is still there but I don't care and then there is the heat. I'm building a new well insulated house and my man cave will be on the attic. In the summer it will become very hot so I will need AC Lol. In the winter it will simply heat the room.

Nice speed you have there veaseomat. I think I can play your game at 5.65. But that is it, more testing when I have more time.

Don't know what I'm gonna do with Fiji. But I doubt a single card will be faster then my CF setup so I don't think I'll invest. I'm hooked to Project Cars and thinking about building a race cockpit. I'll enjoy that alot more then Fiji smile.gif

In the mean time just punish your chip smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

Ahhh but that would not matter anyways mate the people that see it and know it for what it is, (the black box that is) they are the ones who really matter!
Nice one man

I ended up selling that LD PC V2 to a friend and now I'm waiting on a whiteLD PC V10. I'm going to make performance pretty and it isn't cheap. I've since done a complete 180 from amd. Currently rocking a 4790k and two titan x's all under water. The new phase build will be for a 5960x. I'll likely start another thread with the build log for it if not continue it here.

p.s. the 4790k and titans got me to the 98th spot on the 3d mark firestrike ultra hall of fame, I'm hoping to climb with the x99 under phase wink.gif
