Hey guys, new to the forum, first rig I've built, encountered a problem I can't seem to figure out on my own. I have an FX8350 sitting on a GA 990FX - UD3 Rev 4.0. Now, the bios is set to 100% stock right now, factory defaults. The stock multiplier is 20, for a speed of 4.0 Ghz. However CPU Z and HWmonitor are saying I'm running at 20.5 / 4.1 Ghz.

Running slightly overclocked isn't a big deal, I have had her up to 4.5 Ghz stable but I currently don't need the extra performance, so I wanted to set everything back to stock until I needed it again, if ever.

But for some unknown reason I cant get her back to 4.0Ghz! When I did my overclocking I initially used AMD Overdrive, but upon seeing all the reviews about it I decided to bail and do my overclocking through the bios. Everything seemed fine during the OC, but I can't get her back to stock. Not worried about running 4.1, but I'm worried something may be set wrong that I missed, and that makes me nervous.

EDIT: Worth noting, If I adjust the bios multiplier It does not change my clock speed. Example, I upped multiplier to 21 (4.2Ghz) and still HW still shows me clocking around 4.1..

Again, first post so I'm sure you guys will want to see some screenshots of sorts, please let me know anything I can do, and if you have any advice, anything is appreciated!

If I am reading this right, my rig runs from 7x to 20.5x with 21x as its turbo boost (stock turbo is 4.2)

First thing is never use AMD overdrive to overclock. Ok so you cant go back to stock? Have you checked overdrive and make sure that the program is putting your CPU back to normal? After that go the bios and set it to default.
