[Build Log] Project Edith - Beige Case 4k LAN Box

Thanks for dropping by the build log. This is my first, so please bear with me.

This build has been inspired by the Beigemodders Club Lots of awesome work going on over there. Personally, I prefer to remain true to the original "look" of the old 90's cases. Square lines, minimal aesthetics, 3.5 floppy drives.. I love the idea of an unsuspicious old beige case running Metro Last Light in 4k @ 60Hz. I also love meticulous builds with minute details that perhaps no one else may ever know about. This build will be a LAN case for starters, and may be retired later to HTPC. I have named her Edith.

turns out its an old Pentium 4 620. 3.2GHz in 2004 is nothing to scoff at.

Did some measuring tonight. The plan is to mount a 2x radiator in the bottom (280 if it will fit), exhausting down, and intake fans on the front and rear.

looks like the footprint i have to work with on the bottom is roughly 150mm wide x 380mm long.

width:

length: (mark @ 30cm from leftmost usable point)

the front of the case has approximately 180mm x 190mm usable space for an intake fan and pump/res.

i would love to have a 140mm fan in the front, but not sure there will be enough room. So, for now it looks like i will be going with the Alphacool NexXxos ST30 radiator and a couple Noctua NF-F12 PWM fans Pump/res will probably be an EK XRES or something similar. I am open to suggestions for other pump/res brands.

i will put up a preliminary parts list soon

that is the idea, my friend. i am thinking i will repaint the case beige and all exterior components to match. inside, i will paint all that shiny rgs flat black - which will make custom sleeved cables really pop. i dont think i'm going to cut a plexi window. it will be completely unsuspecting at first glance. i will try to keep the front as original as possible, but something has to be done in order to increase airflow...

The diagonal air vents bottom right on the front, add more of them or increase the size... Possibly on the 5.25" bays?
