Not so weird. Think about it, this is a $1500 dollar monitor. It is more of a niche, specialty item that Acer created for the trade shows. I doubt they expect to sell tons of them. As such they probably have very few that they are sharing out for review purposes.

Personally I love mine and had no issue with the price but it is more expensive than a lot of complete systems. Here at OCN is one of the few places where you would have a concentration of people that would actually buy this monitor.

Fair enough.. Although gaming is a very large market nowadays.. and so many web sites specialized.. Oh, and a GTX980ti is quite a niche product too ! Loads of reviews though... 😉
Anyway.

Anyway.

The Z35 is more niche because it's 2560 x 1080 and VA, while most would prefer 3440 x 1440 and most are convinced IPS is outright better than VA due to marketing.

Ok, seemed to be either my old display port cable or old nvidia driver.
with the display port cable provided with the z35 and actual nvidia driver (game ready for tomb raider and the division) the z35 works absolutely flawless now <3 <3 <3

I just got mine yesterday, it's huge, it's a TV smile.gif
I had Asus MG279, the Acer it's almost twice: the size, the price and font size which I'm trying to get used to.
The feeling is the same like when I've got my first LCD.

On the Acer Z35 the colors and contrast are superb out of box, no glow, no blb, nothing bad so far, except desktop fonts !
It doesn't have a swivel move, the screen is very heavy !
Right next, I have the Benq BL2411 - IPS very good for office work, lately sucks for gaming smile.gif

Without reading any of the reviews or comments on the monitor that people made, would you even notice any of it's issues? Like slow transitions in very dark scenes that may cause some blur?

They cause more than blur, they cause ghosting of sorts (like black trailing). As for whether or not you will notice, this will vary person to person. It depends on how much you pay attention to a monitor's motion clarity.

I would say, yes, I would have noticed in some of the extreme cases. I would not have noticed in the vast majority of cases, however. But since I did read a lot about it before I got the Z35, the first thing I did when it came in was go through my huge game library looking for dark trailing motion blur. So far I've only found a couple of games that I really need ULMB, Halo CE and Dragon's Dogma (at least when it turns nighttime). But enough was noticeable that I wouldn't recommend the other monitors that use this panel (XR3501 and XZ35) that don't have ULMB. For those with AMD cards I'd recommend waiting on the updated XR3501 that's coming out with BenQ's strobbing Blur Reduction.

Now, there have been some people post on this site that have the XZ35 and XR3501 and haven't noticed anything. I've also seen people post elsewhere that they see the dark trailing everywhere, all the time on these monitors. So I'd say it also has some to do with each individual and also what games you're playing. I think with certain games it is going to be noticeable without ULMB, if you happen to not play those games you might never notice anything without looking for it.
