I tried that and also getting newer drivers from the realtek website from another computer and still have no luck. I found articles online mentioning that in the latest windows 10 build some settings around the network adapter were disabled.
I'm still looking for a solution if i don't i'll roll back to win 7.

I tried the win 8 drivers too but no luck. Tried to see if i can roll back to win 7 also and wasn't able to.
Now i'm trying to see if i can downgrade from the build 10061 to 10049 as i found people who had similar problems to mine with earlier versions and when they upgraded to 10049 it solved their problem. Me i'm downgrading to it lol. If that doesn't work my next step will be a clean install of win 10.
Man i so like windows 10 so far and can't believe a silly problem like this might cause me to go back to win 7 if the clean install of win 10 doesn't fix it.

Oh man i can't believe it! I downgraded to 10049 without keeping my files as i couldn't and now the internet works! Only thing i find not right is my hdd free space was 250gb and after the install is at 704gb but the hdd is a 1tb.
Next i'm going to do a clean install boot from usb or dvd for the newest build of win 10. So far i've found a way to have internet in win 10 and that's awesome!
Thanks everyone!
And by the way lesson learned, never upgrade only do clean installs!
When installing the LAN driver did you also install the utility - I had a case recently where the wireless alone did not want to play unless it also had the utility.
As can be seen here they are 2 separate files for Win8.1 64Bit:
The only internet-related issues I had (This is my Dell latitude laptop) is I have to manually connect to my router wirelessly each time and before that the intel wireless management thing caused me to have no control over the ethernet port on the laptop. Most of my windows 10 issues are to do with sound. Microphone does not work and the drivers are installed. My Plantronics Gamecom 788 headset does not work on it either even that had the drivers installed. Webcam works, speakers work (50% of the time) and the HDMI sound works flawlessly.

Good catch, i definitely missed it! But when i did a clean install everything got fixed without installing any drives. Thanks for pointing that out, i'll be a lot more careful next time i download drivers.

I have the same headset and funny thing it was set as the default option after i did a clean install of the latest win 10 build.
Now the bad thing is when i disabled the headset to make my speakers the default it disappeared from the list! In win 7 when i was disabling the headset it would remain in the list for me to re-enable it whenever i wish.
Oh and i disabled its microphone too by mistake and it disappeared from there too lol.
By the way i so enjoy win 10 right now. I hope windows defender protects my computer good until i find a good antivirus that works.
A quick question i have guys, every time microsoft releases a new build will i have to do a clean install?
That would be so painful!
Thanks for the recommendation. I was using kaspersky on windows 7 and i can say before that i couldn't survive 1 month without catching something.
Can't wait for it to become compatible with win 10 but until then i'll be using alternatives like the one you recommended.
