But have a look a the damage done just by carrying the case wrong, it's a key piece of the structure that should be strong, but i ruined it, so this case is dead to me now sadsmiley.gif

Now i have ordered a Fractal Define S which should be a much better choice for a watercooling loop, but i might make a new thread for that build once i have the case and parts etc.

But for now RIP Antec P183

Sorry to hear that frown.gif .

Could you rivet an angled piece of 1mm aluminium to the top to fix it up again?

Normally it would be pretty sturdy, but ruined the a critical area of the case being being careless the new Dremel i had just bought at that time.

The case just rattled and, even though I tried to ignore it, I switched it out for a superior Corsair Air 540. You will probably enjoy some of the new features cases have to offer now (cable management).

Also... 200th post.

Well after 5 years i think it is okay to get a new case, but abit sad the P183 won't be the case i'll use, but the Define S should be a good replacement.

I probably could, but i thought i would have more fun with a brand new case, as i've had the P183 for the last 5 years, but i'll probably repair it to the state it was at before i took the top plastic of.

But i just had to make the call to get a new case as the my P183's top would be strong enough after i had removed a large part of the 5,25" drive bays as it is riveted to the top, so before i ruined it completely i saw it wouldn't work.

Yeah, the P180 flexes a bit without the dividing shelf and drive bays biggrin.gif .

If I wasn't so eager to get into modding then a Fractal Design series would have been the case I would consider buying thumb.gif .

Same restrained presentation, silence and very agreeable aesthetics smile.gif .

Yes and then imagine there is a cut out in the top too, there isn't alot of strength left - so it was doomed to fail.

Indeed, Fractal stole Antec's P18x case's design and made it better - Antec never recovered from it biggrin.gif
