I haven't played with settings to see if its shadows, textures, or the models themselves that are so taxing. This is 100% highest settings.

Well a new form of an old bug was introduced in the patch. If you haven't done Liam's movie night yet then don't. The ending scene has your character missing from it. So save before you do that if you want to come back after a fix. I think it is only fem Ryder that is affected by this though.

Terrible optimization IMHO.

I've an alienware alpha and an i5/970 desktop and neither of them run it well no matter the settings. They are playable but not what I hoped for.

The most galling part is that it doesn't "look" like it should be this much of a hog. At least when I was fiddling with Witcher 3 settings the game looked exceptional.

Silly thought- look in the settings and see if you are on 'quality', and if so try 'performance'. I have heard of a few people that had setups like mine (1080/1440p) doubling the framerate with that, with no impact on visuals. But I also have to admit that I have only seen a single digit number of hitches in the game at all.

So it's been a little while since I finished SP. Overall, I enjoyed the game.

But I gotta say, I don't feel compelled to replay the game anytime in the future. Not even a little bit. That's totally unlike how I felt after ME2 and ME3 (though to be fair the DLC helped 3 out alot).

It's not just nostalgia either.

I'm holding out for patches myself for my second play-through but got Nier and Persona 5 now so by the time it's actually tidied up I'll be able to see all the changes at once. Otherwise I'm the same as you, don't feel like I missed anything in my first play-through and since nothing is blocked off there's less reason to return.

Only replayed ME1/ME2 though, ME3 can sit on my physical/digital shelf for eternity.

When a game like ME does not have a replay incentive, it sucks smile.gif. I played Male Shep, Female Shep, Paragon, Renegde, ME1, ME2 and ME3 multiple times thumb.gif. I am on EOS, in the second vault and I quit the game with the 'another vault where i kill 1000 kett and 1000 remnant and then go back planet side'. No thanks so I am posting this now biggrin.gif.

All of my playthroughs had the same dialogue choices anyway, so the lack of alternatives to explore in Andromeda doesn't really bother me.

Yeah, that's the problem for me. The grind/reward ratio is very high. There are a few Andromeda scenes I might want to re-experience, but they're so rare compared to the amount of gameplay in between that it's just not worth it, whereas there were so many golden moments in the other ME games.

Reminds me of SWTOR (minus the MMO combat). That game has many more story paths to take, but it's still that same pattern of pretty scenery + rare bit of good dialogue mixed in with a TON of monotony. I don't regret playing SWTOR either, but I wouldn't replay it if someone stuck a gun to my head tongue.gif

Didn't AMD have this problem before and there was a work around for it? Or was that CPU and not GPU?
