No sorry, what this is, is diehard fans not being able to accept that their fav game is/was a total mess of poor game design and lazy development standards or duck-taped together by inexperience devs. Also, the majority of Bioware's original staff left along time ago. Bioware is not Bioware anymore, they're like everything EA touches, a hollow shell of its former self that uses established brand names to peddle half arsed sequels and reboots.

The gaming industry is in the trash state it is because gamers (such as your self) keep defending and accepting lower and lower quality and standards and then go on to accuse others who wont stand for it, that they're entitled and expect to much or got duped by hype.

That points out a problem with SAM though. He tells us all these things, but it only manifests in a few ways (unlike the Deus Ex games for example). More is needed. I'm pretty sure bringing SAM into the discussion just opens up another bag of worms too, more than just this I'm guessing. BioWare isn't fit to write such a 'character' and plot device without holes and other issues.

Thankfully other customers have made their voices heard. ME:A reception is mixed at best, not sure about sales though which is what really counts. Let's not forget the endless comparisons to The Witcher 3, for which gamers and 'journalists' go way overboard but some good might come of it.

Those holes are there intentionally and get plugged near the end of the main quest. The manifestation isn't like Deus Ex because SAM isn't replacing parts of Ryder with gadgetry, it's just stimulating what's already there and making biological changes. That's why the Futurama Parasite example is apt, because that's exactly what SAM is doing whereas in Deus Ex the dude is a Cyborg.

ME:A definitely has some issues, primarily the lackluster writing and goofy face models. Not sure how Sara Ryder ended up looking like...that...there's almost no resemblance to the model she's based on.

Hmm, if it addresses them then at least an effort is made... I guess? Obviously I cannot speak for that. Doesn't really offset the sillyness that takes place early in the game though. And yes, I didn't want to use Deus Ex as an example since it is fundamentally completely different, my point was more along the lines of if Deus Ex games only gave you a few different, weaker augmentations, but built you up to be the master infiltrator that you are, then it'd be a similar failure on their behalves. The abilities of those games live up to how they are described.

It's not particularly pretty writing, it's crude like a 1980s jeep but it does plug the hole effectively. Overall I was disappointed by the main story, not the settling bit but dealing with the Archon bit...he's not even one dimensional...that would be a disservice to 1 dimensional characters. I suspect we'll learn that Exaltation is the last ditch attempt to stave off something worse in game 2 or 3 which in turn will give the Archon more depth.

The profile system does have a level up feature, you don't just magically start as a boitic god or a master infiltrator. The more you progress in that specific area, the better the profile becomes so in essence, though it's heavily bound by game mechanics, there is a sense of progression...it's just that the writing completely disjoints it from the plot progression.

Third skill can be whatever the hell you want it to be, I prefer bastion charge because it's a nice gap closer and gets me out of bad situations. Tactical Cloak could be used to the same effect.
The Adept profile is absolutely important because it buffs the crap out of biotic detonations and extends your spec'd for radius Annihilation to silly distances.

Frankly, if you min/max that skillset you become...a biotic god xD

It becomes very easy to kill off clusters of enemies including Annointed before they can finish spooling up. Only trick to remember is that biotic detonations have a internal cooldown, you can't biotic detonate the same enemy 4 times in 1 second so instead you biotic detonate 1 enemy then the next and next and next. By time you've detonated each enemy everything should be dead in the area since the Adept profile increases the damage, force, radius and number of biotic detonations.
Depends on your play style. If you like up close, Charge + Annihilation is a great combination. But because he said he was stuck in cover I assumed he liked a bit more of a ranged approach, which means Singularity + ranged detonator. Explosive singularity is really awesome in my view. But indeed it can't really keep up with a shieldpowered Lance + annihilation. And charge complements those two powers really well.

It's indeed important to max out Biotics to get the best profile. It'll buff everything, making it quite amazing.

If singularity cooldown started after you initially used the skill it would be a lot better, with Annihilation for priming you can fight mid range easily, the radius of Annihilation if you spec right is freaking HUGE so it's viable with cover as well as close quarters. Fusion Mod of Adrenaline makes Singularity builds completely viable on Insane though.

So to be able to play this on max settings @ 4K, do we need a minimum of 2x GTX 1080 Ti?

Currently using 2x GTX 1080 STRIX @4K and it is pretty choppy and fps all over the place.

Not sure what you have (or how well threaded it is), but I know it's pretty CPU heavy too.

Yeah, let us know the rest of your specs. One GTX 1080 Ti with a 5 GHz 7700k and any amount of DDR4 4000+ is not enough. I would think 1080 SLI on a system like this would be able to do it though.
