I agree with TW3 even though it's almost brand new compared to the others you've mentioned. It's like a good movie only you're playing the part.

I stopped playing gta 5 to replay portal 1&2. Now back into deus ex human revolution.

Skyrim and new Vegas will always be my favourites from this time.

  • Demon's Souls
  • Dark Souls
  • Dark Souls II
  • Bloodborne
  • Ori and The Blind Forest
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain
  • The Last of Us

Honorable mentions :

  • The Witcher 3
  • GTA V
  • Skyrim

The reason I didn't put Witcher 3, GTA V and Skyrim on the list is because I don't think I'll play them again due to the nature of them being open world and aging badly in an evinronment that is focused on the graphical nature of things. They are all great games and I think Witcher 3 is better than MGSV TPP. Witcher 3 is my personal GOTY, but I don't think I'll consider it a classic I will play again ever. MGS on the other hand is one piece of a huge series that people will play again and again. Maybe I am wrong about that because MGSV TPP is an open world game aswell as the 3 honorable mentions are.

It definitely differs from person to person. I am certain there are many people that have put well over 1000 hours into any of those 3 games and are continuing to do so.

Just want to reiterate Demon's Souls, Dark Souls I, and Dark souls II (even though DSII is the lesser of the 3 in my opinion).

I tend to be one of those people that enjoys skill based games so outside of those I would say Borderlands 2 was just a great deal of family fun, 3 generations of my family met up every night to shoot da bad guys down on that for hundreds of hours. Pre-sequel politics made me physically ill though.

Can't leave out Counter Strike: Global Offensive.. E-sport type game but I love it after Source really turned me off for a lot of years.

I completely agree.

I wonder why FROM Software is not doing a Demon's Souls remastered frown.gif
