Zowie ZA11 pictures, thoughts and facts - by Ino - Page 29

So I just got my ZA11 in the mail and my first thought is WOW this scroll wheel is terrible! My AM's scroll wheel actually worked REALLY well for being a Zowie scroll wheel and I didn't like the FK1 shape so I barely used that mouse but I remember the scroll wheel working similarly. This ZA scroll wheel is just so much worse.. It feels like someone took it apart five times trying to make it better and made it much worse. Do you guys have this issue too or do I have a bad unit?

If it's one of the BenQ units, they have a 16-step wheel and it is loud/heavy as hell, I couldn't use my EC2-A for browsing the internet because of how fatigued I'd get scrolling down huge pages.

You can increase the number of lines per scroll in your windows options, it helps. The ZA wheel is very fatiguing for browsing. EC2A is a little bit better. I liked Roccat's scrolls more.

Zowie's scroll wheels tend to be a pita since they started creating mice. Nothings changed since then. That's 7 years btw.

They should just make the wheel bigger and have more steps. Many cheap mice have better wheels.

Hey all,

Really thinking of replacing my Steelseries Sensei with ZA12 or ZA11 but everything i have read keeps saying it is a FPS mouse only.

What is everyones thoughts on this?

I play a wide variety of games and want something that will be equally comfortable and responsive for different game types.

Current games I am playing are:

TF2
XCOM 2
Dropzone
Witcher 3
Shank 1 & 2
Invisible Inc.
Dont Starve
Borderlands

Looking at buying Overwatch
Looking at buying CS:GO

Just as a few examples.

I don't care about having tons of buttons as much as I do having something that is comfortable.

However, I can see how having something with more buttons would be useful in games like Dropezone and Paragon(hopefully this is getting better, stopped playing a little bit ago).

I use my FK1 for the Witcher, Don't Starve, Borderlands, Overwatch and CS:GO. No problems with it, the clicks are stiff with these mice but once you get used to them you won't notice it until you switch back to a lighter switch. I think you will be just fine. smile.gif

I am disappointed by the zowie za11

mine shined on the mouse buttons basically immediately and the scroll wheel is an abomination.

Make sure you buy the right size for your hand. ZA12 fits most hand sizes. FPS mice just means comfortable shape, lightweight, good buttons, consistent accurate sensor. The wheel on the ZA11/12 is good for gameplay, scrolls seem very deliberate, but bad for browsing. It made my hand tired to use it.
