This is the first build log I'm posting that I'm going to document. Pics for now, but will update as I go. This box is going to be setup for max stable clock, single GPU CAD work. I'm going try a couple of different processors in here to see what this board can do. Case, Motherboard and PSU is all I'm in for right now (5/7/15)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

This is a different case than what I'm used to from Lian Li, no front intakes. Bottom intakes and top exhaust with 140 mm fans spinning slower to keep the noise down.

The front cover snaps right off.

Bare Mobo tray ready to receive the new player

Very interesting PSU mounting, for sure. Front exhaust of the PSU.

It is nice to be able to take the top off of this case since it isn't riveted down. Makes for tight cable routing happen.

What kind of CAD work still you be making? 3D, 2D? Solidworks? Edge? Catia? AutoCAD? Also, what version will you be running? Are you going to get a workstation card or just consumer "Gaming"?

That Lian-Li case aluminium is VERY nice.

Solidworks mostly, but I'll be doing simulations and rendering with it. And with some of the 3D printing I'll be doing, the toolpath creation gets very processor heavy. I'm mostly testing, but I'll throw a workstation card in there to see what it can do. You just have to watch NewEgg for a special, the Lian Li's go for just as cheap as the junk cases out there.
