Your 40" screen is completely different - it's using a PVA panel, and probably uses CCFL backlighting if you're seeing flicker. This is a common problem with many large screens - I assume CCFL backlighting is cheaper than LED backlighting for the manufacturer.

A lot of the features seem to be the same other than the panel.  I'd imagine UHD400 owners can relate.  We can always start a new thread for Wasabi Mango 4K monitors  for this generation series or change the topic title of this thread since it has some good info and trends pretty often

As much as they are the same, there is significant differences in the way the panels perform, just based on the technology used. It would be a shame for someone to pick one panel over another based on a misunderstanding that something said about the LG-IPS panel was simply not true of the Samsung PVA panel or vica-versa. There probably should be separate threads based on panel technology.

How are the speakers on the UHD490? Considering picking one up as my monitor but I also share my TV box with my PC monitor when I'm not using my PC.

I have no experience with the UHD490 but I can tell you that the UHD430 are what I would call 'tinny' sounding. I would so not use them when watching movies or anything where some sound fidelity is warranted, preferring to use a sound bar w/sub instead.

Hello, I read earlier in the thread that the uhd420 and up is 10bit color depth, but isn't hdr capable? Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't all 10 bit panels capable of 8 bit color with hdr?

There are no hdr monitors because i believe that requires displayport 1.4

Guys, Im searching for the answer for a while, but not finding a 100% clear one. Is it possible to get 60Hz at 4K with dual HDMI 1.4? Or this solution is not legit, and the trick works just with some 4K TVs? (I might use a 750Ti with no DP for a while with this monitor.)

each port on the back of a gpu card should operate at full i/o spec no matter how many ports are in use.
your bottleneck is the 2gb on that gpu, since 2x4k will use up all the vram with so much desktop space.
