I know this is a an old Thread but I have been running 48GB RAM for almost a year.
Running 6 Kingston HyperX FURY 16GB 8GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 Dimms
I am on a ASUS P6X58D Premium with a I7 930

I am looking to move to a Xeon Chip.

FYI I believe have finally found the upper limit for RAM usage on Windows. What I mean by that is how much do you really need to freely run "as much as you want" with out the rig failing. At 24GB I was failing over time, all the time. I believe the limit is around 40GB. I can run the rig for days fluctuating around around 32GB - 44GB ram usage and it NEVER FAILS!! smile.gif
Running between 400 and 500 processes.

I hope this info helps some one
