Wake up folks. They ALL do this to an extend. It sells! And their "optimization" is easier by just downgrading stuff.

Let us stop the dev fanboy crap. Judge a game on the game, not by it's dev team.

This

It makes me mad that people were praising cd projekt so much, claiming they would buy 2 copies to support them yada yada. They are all the same; Ubisoft, CD Projekt. When a dev gets too successful they chase that console gold and don't care anymore. Anyone remember the farcry 3 fiasco? PC gamers were raging so hard, despite farcry 3 being a good game. This graphics downgrade is arguably worse than farcry 3, maybe even Watchdogs but people are still saying wait and see. The fact that CD Projekt is saying nothing speaks volumes.

Yes I am still looking forward to the game, and no I do not hate CD Projekt but fanboys need to wake up. Stop worshipping Valve, Blizzard and CD Projekt; stop the blind hatred of EA and Ubisoft. In the end it does nothing for the betterment of games.

Therefore expansions can be DLC if they are downloaded, or expansions can be sold separately in disk format. If an expansion is downloaded it is DLC.

This ain't rocket science folks. Stop trying to make it more difficult than it really is.

Exactly. This argument is lachen.gif

This is known as over-simplification.

Tell me, do you see a difference in these two pictures:

or how about these

Heck we can just go all the way with it if you want and just replace every noun with "energy" because it's not a rock it's just a mass of energy, it's not a cow it's just a mass of energy.

Now can we please try and understand why we don't always use the widest brush possible to describe things? You are correct, this ain't rocket science, it's something so basic even plants understand. Some things are different from other things.

all these argument about DLC and Expansion does it matter? just look at Destiny, they called the The Dark Below an expansion wherein it only introduced like what.. a handful of exotics, a new raid, a few story mission quests that reuse the same areas, weapons that reuse the same models, a few new armor sets, a few PvP maps. thats it, almost all new content use existing assets. Gone are the days where expansions used to bring in massive new content and comparable in length to the original game. The term is a joke now.

Train wreck of a thread. Did laugh at the confusion regarding DLC though. As per, nobody is forcing you to buy any additional content. In the space of a few short posts we've already seen examples of people complaining about paying without knowing what the content is.

Stop backtracking when you're corrected and maybe threads like this would be easier to follow!

Bickerbickerbicker. As for the actual performance improvements, noted - but not long now till we see the final product.

Except in this case it equates to about 30-40hrs of new content, or in other terms, a good old fashioned expansion more or less. Not the usual crap you get that takes a handful of hours to romp through and cost $20 each (Looking at Skyrim). Plus they are also releasing 15 DLC packs for free including additional quests. So I don't really see an issue. At least their expansions are actual expansions, not just 1 extra mission for $20 as has become the norm

Irrelevant. I don't mind DLC myself, I'm actually the one always laughing in confusion of the arguments against it, and the argument against it is always "they're cutting parts out of the game. I want the whole game". Length is irrelevant in this argument. I just find it comical that because it's CDPR, all of a sudden it's okay; and we don't know how long this DLC will actually add to the gameplay yet. For all we know, the story end of it could be 5-6 hours long and it could be filled with "collect these token" type quests.

In case you hadn't figured it out yet - my original comment was satire. smile.gif

Target dates of the DLC Paid "Expansions":

Quote: Source
Expansion Pass: Hearts of Stone & Blood and Wine

The Expansion Pass secures your access to two epic adventures set in the vibrant world of monster hunter Geralt of Rivia.

Hearts of Stone will take Geralt on an all-new 10-hour adventure into the wilds of No Man’s Land and the nooks and alleys of Oxenfurt, where he’ll try to complete a contract from the mysterious Man of Glass. Caught in a thick tangle of deceit, Geralt will need all his cunning and strength to solve the mystery and emerge unscathed.

Blood and Wine, a 20-hour tale that will introduce the all-new in-game region of Toussaint, will take Geralt to a land untainted by war, where an atmosphere of carefree indulgence and knightly ritual masks an ancient, bloody secret.

The upcoming expansions will offer gamers new content, gear and foes, and will feature characters both new and dearly missed -- all crafted with maximum attention to detail and quality.

Hearts of Stone will premiere in October, while Blood and Wine is slated for release in the first quarter of 2016.
