You don't get it, just goes straight over your head. Going to listen to others and stop bothering trying to present logic to this discussion.

So you show a random youtube guy who if you listen to sounds like a complete moron, and then say my claims are refuted by multiple AMD owners? This is logic? I present you a well respected site showing exactly my claims - I also show that I've owned the AMD cpu's I claim to (if you've ever posted benchs on this site you would see me listed on a few) . Do tell, why would I switch if not for better performance? What do I gain out of saying Skyrim dipped below 60fps on many occasions on my 9590? Why would I drop the cash - why would anyone for that matter? Why are your builds Intel? Why not AMD?

You point fingers blindly but have no reason to. Whatever you choose to believe, it is what it is. You gain nothing defending a product that has faults when it comes to single/low thread performance, so why do you?

I'm saying I own both intel and AMD and that the AMD for their price are good chips. You along with most intel fans claim AMD can't run anything and all they do is lag.

There are MULTIPLE owners of both i7/i5 and fx8 in this thread alone saying AMD runs games fine and is faster in desktop. Everyone who owns both claim the FX8 is as good as the i5 and better in many instances.

Both I and Agent Smith who also owns a FX8 play skyrim and have no issues, but you want to claim AMD is junk

Intel i7 is the best performance

AMD FX8 is best price/performance.

I'll take a FX8 + better gpu over a i5 + worse gpu any day for budget builds. For ultimate performance i7 is the obvious choice.

So your reasoning for buying more expensive intel hardware is that you want to support lazy programmers using 20 year old tech? Are you still running Win98?

I will not support bad programmers and do support progressive programmers that are advancing the technology. Is supporting programmers who use X86 code and at least 4 cores being too progressive?

Crickey! Even Half Life 2 (2004) loads all 8 cores on my system. For some reason I can't post a screenie or I would.

Do you know when the first game with native 4 core support came out? Grand Prix Legends (1998). Of course we didn't know that sim had 4 core support until we got 4 core CPUs. I got my Q6600 in 2007 and that simulator really took off. Someone even tried to upgrade it from DX7 to DX11, but it was just too much work for one person working in his spare time.

After all this time I for one have zero patience for troglodytes trying to push obsolete software off on us and will NOT support them. There are lots of modern games out there.

Point proven. You put words in my mouth. Please find a post from me ANYWHERE on this site where I claim AMD is junk or that AMD can't run anything and just lag? Can you not read? Look at my cpu history even, what do you see? Literally ran only AMD cpu's from 2004 to late 2014 but now I'm an Intel fan? I've come to the conclusion you are either a troll or just purposely ignorant. AMD does run games fine, that does not mean it doesn't dip below 60 in many areas in Skyrim, or do poorly on games like SC2 in comparison to other products, etc. etc.

Not only that but you have a i5 yourself and a 290. Yet you just said you'd take a FX-8 and faster gpu any day? Why didn't you go FX-8 and 290x? Odd.

You are fighting an argument that doesn't exist.

Because I'm not foolish enough to believe that little old you and your lack of support will make a dent in the world when it comes to software support. I'm not going to punish my own experience to 'stick it to the man' that doesn't give a crap about you or what you purchase. Besides, hard to really take someone seriously who can't even figure out how to take a screenshot. No offense.

I have had SC2 since release and have run it on everything from e6400 to x2 3600+ to q6600 to e2180 to fx6300 to i7 3770k to i5 3570k to i5 4670k to fx 8350 to fx 8310 and I do not see the lag intel fans claim.

The game was as good on my x2 3600+ as it is on my i7 with max graphics at 1080p

Sorry I don't run fps counters to see the fraps differnece, and yes i've played 4v4 with 4+ motherships on the screen

Maybe I can't see dips below 60

If you can't see a difference may I recommend an eye doctor for you?

smooth game play > fps counters

Per your link even i5 can't go over 50 fps

So now you claim sc2 is choppy and laggy on i5 as well thumb.gif
