New to the Overclock.net's HWBOT Team? Thinking about joining the greatest HWBOT team? This is the place to start. Post up a greeting and introduce yourself. Overclock.net is home to many friendly and helpful benchers so feel free to ask questions, throw up some frosty pics, or just hang out.

If you do have questions these are overclockers on the team that have fancy titles:

TEAM CAPTAINS

In charge of moderating submission and members on HWBOT.org. If you need help with submissions, creating your validation screenshots, wondering how the points system works, or really anything HWBOT related, talk to one of the captains.

Rasparthe
xxbassplayerxx

BENCHMARK EDITORS

In charge of moderating the Benchmark section of Overclock.net. Need advice on how to squeeze that last bit of speed out of a system, or tweaks and tips, or hardware recommendations your looking for the editors.

Pizzaman
Strong Island 1
Valgaur
Rasparthe

OVERLORD DICTATOR

We may not speak of his duties, but we are all in awe.

El Gappo

Now that you've done the hard part and joined the team, let's hear from you! thumb.gif

Glad to be part of the Overclock.net team.

My name is Dave and I just recently got back into overclocking this past January. My 15 year old son has been suggesting for years we build a computer together and its turned into a ton of enjoyment. I finally listened to him. I should take his advice more often, lol.

He was 4 or 5 the last time I was playing with voltages and he fondly remembers him and his two older sisters sitting in the sweltering kitchen for dinner with their mom.
It was about 90f in the house, mid summer, and the only air conditioning we had was a window unit in the kitchen .

I was not at the dinner table, and the window air-conditioning unit was with me, pushed tight against my rig, Abit BH-7 I think, with a Pentium something crushed beneath a large hunk of frozen copper. They called me for dinner 40 something times before giving up. I just had to run 3d mark one more time.

Seeing that it is May 18th and we woke up to snow in Winnipeg, I guess I'll be tweaking instead cutting the lawn today. Perhaps I'll take the whole rig out onto the deck as the ambient temp is nice and frosty.

I'm still very much a newb to all this and really had no clue what I was doing years ago, but everyone needs a hobby or three.

Cheers

Welcome to the team! I've been watching your progress at the Rookie Rumble, pretty close to 1st place there so you must have at least an inkling of what your doing!

Need any help or got some questions drop a PM or post up a new thread, plenty of guys running 1150 chips here. And if you get all nostalgic for the greater days of computer hardware.... Old School Competition.

I have to playfully say... . Okay, now I feel bad for taking the team's fastest score in one of the GPU Pi benches.... Totally didn't realize you were not only new to the team but Canadian as well!!

Those are some lovely scores you're posted!

Thanks for inviting me to the Overclock.net team!

I have been looking at teams, as my rookie status is at an end. As you know you are only a rookie for 90 days.

I really enjoy overclocking.as I am a horrible gamer. It's a great hobby!.

I just upgraded my rig to the 4790k with a ASUS Maximus Hero VII. I have been running the i7 875k ever since it came out. I figured it was time for an upgrade. Looking at benchmark scores, maybe I should have went for a 5th generation chip. Oh well, I am just happy that I lucked out in the chip lottery, and got a good one for overclocking. One of my friends has the same chip, but he can't go over 4.8Ghz. I have only had this chip for 3 months, so I am still finding out how far I can push it without a melt down..

I look forward to being on the team!

So what is next?

Welcome! Congrats on finishing so well in the Rumble. It looks like you won't be a Novice in time to participate in the Novice Nimble but I'm sure another will be coming up soon. In the meantime, we have a competition going on in our forums, here. You can make yourself officially part of the Team in the 'My Account' tab of HWBOT and you will be automatically entered in the comp. Still a month to go and some pretty stiff competition going on. Possibly by the middle of the month the Team Cup should be starting and then there will be tons of stages to compete in.

Any questions or problems feel free to drop me a PM. thumb.gif

4.5Ghz using 1.27V !

4.678Ghz using 1.27V !

Was going to mess around more when I got home . Got a feeling I've got a good chip ..... Although mad a tad bugger up when I put 1.8Vcore .... booted then ran HWBOT and noticed I was smashing 100C before going back into the bios and realising what A tit mistake I made instead of putting 1.28V .... lo
