I think you missed where these are for 1U systems tongue.gif. 1U cases are only 1.75" tall.

I see a lot of misinformation on purple LEDs so I wanted to clarify things.

As stated, a red LED will heat things up and a blue LED will cool them down, a purple LED is a blue LED that is failing as the heat load is too high for the radiators to dissipate. This can be fixed one of two ways: more blue LEDs or more radiators.

My recommendation is always more blue LEDs.

Trust me, I've had first hand experience.
