This isnt some NSA conspiracy or data mine attempt, if they really wanted to do either of those they could push a silent update to existing copies of windows connected to the web.
sure sure. then please explain why does smartsearch in win10 now send all your local searches to ms servers? before they sent only visited links, now they are sending even your local searches. or is my local search malware too?

you must be kidding

candy crush seems like a win/win for ms considering that they want to push the whole mobile thing and it is a mobile game.

w10 still seems awful though. i regret not buying w7 instead of 8 when i had the chance. somewhat more expensive but it would have been worth it.

I'll take your word for it, but what happened to you is the exception and not the rule. I've legitimately changed out the CPU on activated Windows installs before and even that hasn't invalidated me. If changing an OC invalidated Windows even on frequent occasions, all of OCN and every other site like it would be ready to converge on Redmond with pitchforks and ropes.

I even did what you did once, OC'ing an E4300 from its stock 1.8 GHz to 3.1 GHz. I didn't lose validation for doing it.

I wish microsoft would just create an account system for windows keys. The copy I purchased for my latest build won't work anymore, since I had to RMA my old board and SSD. Wish I could just tie an account to the system I'm using.

Had to bust out the old 1-800-Mic-ro$t, and tell the dude it was just a GPU swap.

I wonder if Intel's Speed Step was ever an issue here. Flagging Grandma's computer because she stopped watching a video and started writing an e-mail, dropping clock speed 50%.

I have used my Win 7 key so many times on my system I have to call them to validate it anymore if I swap motherboard. Which is what your key is typically tied to specifically, the motherboard.

Google Windows Vista Invalidate License Overclocking, I guess my fear of invalid license has followed me through Vista days. But what helps is re-installing Windows 7 trial on junkers.

Im so bummed right now frown.gif

Im planning on buying a core i7 next month. No fair....

but is it the same thing on windows 8 and possibly on windows 10?
