It's a bit ironic that the GIF format is decades old at this point and is limited to 256 colours, yet these GIFs are showing us glorious footage from the future. thumb.gif

Yep. I remember back a couple of months ago when more people were saying there was no downgrade and that we should wait for UNCOMPRESSED VIDEOS. I was like you don't need uncompressed videos to easily tell whats been missing.

Oh well. I was actually gonna preorder the game when that trailer came out even if I wasn't gonna play it till after my summer. Glad I checked myself after the Bioshock infinite burn

Have you looked through the Project Cars benchmark thread? Someone found out disabling one setting gave them great performance. I don't think the setting affected visuals much either

The funny thing to me is that at the end of the day the game looks good and plays well, I have been enjoying it so far. Is the downgrade real? Yes, to me it appears that the downgrade is real. That being said I 100% believe that we will see an "enhanced edition" down the road that restores some of the effects seen in the earlier trailer.

That being said, this is still a huge AAA release with ZERO DRM. How rare is that today? I don't know of ANY other publisher will release a full priced, multiplatform AAA game and not include some sort of DRM.

I still respect CDPR and GOG.com is still my first stop for digital games. Did they go in the hype machine and bullshots? Yes, and they are getting a drubbing over it. That doesn't put them on the same level of an Ubisoft.
