Corsair SP120 or BitFenix Spectre

Thread Starter
I'm trying to figure which one of these to use for case fans the BitFenix Spectre PWM 51.3 CFM 120mm Fan or the Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan? I already plan on using the BitFenix Spectre on my Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120M(BW) Rev.A 46.2 CFM in place of the fan that came with it but not sure about as my case fans? While the Corsair fan does have a higher CFM the BitFenix has a higher RPM, a lower noise level and are PWM. Should I go for the higher CFM or the Higher RPM?

AFAIK those corsair fans are made for heatsinks, not cases.

I'd pick door #3.

There are much better alternatives to both of those. A PWM fan for the cooler is the best choice. Stronger, quieter options would be:

Arctic Cooling F12 PWM
Cougar CF-V12HB Vortex
Noctua NF-P12
Be!Quiet SilentWings 2 PWM
EK-VARDAR F2-120

Check the big fan test thread here: http://www.overclock.net/t/1274407/fans-the-most-complete-and-comprehensive-array-of-tests-and-benchmarks/0_30

For case fans, the BitFenix are ok - at least they're quiet, however, they don't push as much air as others. For low cost, hard to beat the AC F12, either 3pin or PWM model. Or the Yate Loon D12SM-12, mounted vertically. Will wear too quickly when mounted horizontal. Corsair AF120 Quiet Edition (It's quiet, but the one's I've used made some odd noises.). Moving up in cost, there's the Noctuas and Be!Quiets.

If you like to move dots on a web page, this interactive graph is fun: http://www.hardware.fr/articles/874-35/recapitulatif-db-a-vs-cfm.html
It's in French, but the graph and stats are universal. It maps cfm to noise - a quick way to sort the cool from the noise.

What case are you using?

Its the Xion Xon White Ed. I was more looking at the BitFenix as a Heat sink fan it's better than the one that came with Thermalright TRUE Spirit 120M(BW) Rev.A 46.2 CFM and wanted something with LED same goes for case fans I'm looking for White LED fans for case. What about these as a case fan XIGMATEK FCB Cooling System XLF-F1254 120mm White LED or.Corsair Air Series AF120 CO-9050015-WLED 120mm

Good airflow, quiet, LEDs. Pick any two. ;-)

The True 120mm is a good case fan, not so much on a cooler tho. The BitFenix won't be much stronger. If you can tolerate more noise then you should be able to find some LED fans.

PWM fans with White LEDs:

XIGMATEK FCB XLF XLF-F1255 or Cooler Master JetFlo 120, however with the JetFlo, your eyes might be happy, but your ears will hate you. It's loud!

Case Fans:
The Corsair SP120 Quiet Edition comes in White LED version for case fans Or the Antec True Quiet 120 WHITE 120mm with LED. Or spend more for SILVERSTONE Air Penetrator AP121-L AP121-WL 120mm White LED. - It's quiet, but not great airflow. Best used as intake, not exhaust.
