What motherboard should I get as a replacement?

This is my build: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/KzJrCJ
I haven't used the computer for nearly a year, as it stopped working and I wasn't actively gaming.
I identified the PSU was not working and replaced it, but it still shows no signs of life. From what I understand the most likely thing is that a year ago my PSU blew and took out my motherboard. The X79-UD3 motherboard does not seem to be in stock anymore, and as it's a 2011 model there may be better ones that are cheaper now.

I'm somewhat disconnected from recent technology updates, so please recommend me a compatible, easy to find in Amazon motherboard that won't limit future upgrade options.
I would also appreciate some comments on my diagnosis of my computer, although I understand it's hard to do without seeing it. The symptoms before it died (games lagging horribly, computer shutting down constantly, and a loud sound when it died for real) sound very similar to a PSU dying, so I suspect that's accurate. I'm just hoping it did not kill anything beyond the motherboard.

It's not worth buying older tech unless you can get it for cheap. A lot of new builds cost almost about the same when they charge an arm and a leg for old tech. You could keep everything else and change out motherboard and CPU and see if things run. Pick up Devils Canyon and a motherboard and go from there.

If you could test the components individually to see if they work it would be much easier.

Do you think I will need a new cpu? I was hoping I could get it to work with just the motherboard.
Unfortunately I have no way to test them unless I sent it a computer repair place, which will charge me over 100 pounds to tell me I have a faulty motherboard

If you have no one you know that has an LGA 2011 setup then you will have to try another means. Maybe you could post something up on like Craigslist or find an OCN member who lives close by to help test your components for you. Maybe offer them something like 10-15 pounds or whatever you deem reasonable. The most difficult part is testing your CPU since you need someone with the same LGA 2011 socket to test it. All other components can easily be tested for functionality on most systems.

There is no guarantee that swapping out the motherboard is worth it or will make your system work again without properly checking all other components. It could be all or some of your components are damaged and then you start right back from square one again. Buying an LGA 2011 motherboard is probably not the wisest choice if all or some of your components are dead. You would just end up with an old expensive motherboard without other necessary working components.

Test your components first, then decide if you should rebuild brand new from scratch. If it turns out some of the components are damaged and some survived then you can just salvage whatever is good into your new build or sell all working components to fund your new build.
